Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the Ontario municipalities of Barrie, Collingwood and Hillsdale.
On July 15, 2021, an EF-2 tornado hit Barrie, injuring at least 10 people and damaging 71 homes. The warning, which initially was a tornado warning issued at 3:15 p.m., was downgraded to a severe thunderstorm warning at 3:32 p.m. on Wednesday. The warning, issued just after 3 p.m., said meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that could possibly produce a tornado.
