SummerSlam takes place on Saturday, July 30. Brock Lesnar challenges for Roman Reigns' WWE Universal Championship in a Last Man Standing match.
As you probably know by now, Peacock is the new home of WWE's pay-per-views. It's WWE's second biggest show of the year, so there are plenty of other championships on the line. WWE SummerSlam takes place at Nashville's Nissan Stadium on Saturday, July 30. - SmackDown Women's Championship: Liv Morgan (c) vs. Since then, the two have wrestled in several high-profile matches, including two other WrestleMania main events. It's been over seven years since Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns first clashed in the main event of WrestleMania 31.
Meanwhile Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar will be competing for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. If you are thinking of tuning in - here's all you need ...

Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar · Bianca Belair vs. Becky Lynch · Liv Morgan vs. Ronda Rousey · The Usos vs. Street Profits · Logan Paul vs. The Miz · Pat McAfee vs.
There’s potential for Logan Paul and Ronda Rousey’s matches to be underwhelming, so it can make some sense to break them up with whatever is planned for Rollins. That’s why I’m adding a segment to the show and putting Seth between those matches. How does a potential Seth Rollins match or segment fit into all of this? If Edge doesn’t appear, it’s easier for me to put the Mysterios on earlier than Paul, so that’s what I’ll do. The final match of the night is Roman Reigns vs. That means McAfee and Corbin go in Segment 3. Therefore I’m holding off Rousey and Morgan until right before the main event. Finding a good spot for The Mysterios match is tricky, because the importance of the match hinges on whether or not Edge is appearing. I think that will be followed up with either Logan Paul or Pat McAfee in Segment 3. It’s also the least important match of the night, which has an increased chance of being placed in Segment 2. I think WWE will book this similarly to WrestleMania 38 night one, where Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair got the mid-card spot and Ronda Rousey’s match was held off until later in the night. This is a tough one to crack, so I’m going to divide the card into two halves. WWE has announced eight different segments for the main card of this event.
Will Roman Reigns defend his undisputed Universal title against Brock Lesnar? Here's everything you need to know ahead of tonight's WWE SummerSlam 2022.
The Judgment Day (Damian Priest and Finn Balor) The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford): Undisputed WWE tag team titles Is Logan Paul the real deal or just a flash in the pan?
Undisputed WWE Universal Championship - Roman Reigns (c) vs. Brock Lesnar (Last Man Standing match). Winner: Roman Reigns. It's hard to imagine Reigns' near two ...
Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship - The Usos (c) vs. Judgement Day has been feuding with the Mysterios for several weeks and it came to a head last Monday with the former ambushing the latter during Rey Mysterio’s 20-year WWE anniversary celebration. The only interesting thing about Theory on this show is if he’ll cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase in the main event. The easy way out of this is to have Rousey get herself disqualified and issue a vicious beatdown on the champ. On one hand, Liv Morgan has shined as a star since winning the title at Money in the Bank and it’s hard to imagine the company pulling the plug on her reign this early. Ripley earned herself a title opportunity earlier in the summer before going on the shelf with an injury.

The biggest match of all pits a pair of old rivals against each other once again. Undisputed universal champion Roman Reigns puts his pair of titles on the line ...
Removing disqualifications changes things, however, especially with vignettes airing over the past month suggesting the return of Edge. Balor, Priest and Ripley turned on Edge after he brought them into the group and his return helping The Mysterios get a win in a match where his involvement is within the boundaries of the rules makes a lot of sense. WWE has invested a lot of time into Theory, giving him tons of screen time, a run with the United States title and winning Money in the Bank. They also have done an interesting job of having him stumble often enough that the idea of his SummerSlam plan to regain his title before cashing in the Money in the Bank contract later in the night completely blowing up in his face is very much in play. The introduction of Jarrett as the referee could tilt things in the favor of the Profits, but Jarrett could just as easily cheat in favor of The Usos. Either way, someone is getting hit with a guitar. Miz. After Miz turned on Paul once the pair beat The Mysterios at WrestleMania, it was obvious we'd eventually get a one-on-one match on a big stage. As for Theory and his threat of cashing in the Money in the Bank contract after the match, The Usos can likely run interference to allow Theory to keep the briefcase around as a storytelling device a bit longer. Corbin has cemented himself as a heel who can be slotted in for programs against anyone, lose the blowoff match and then move right on to the next without really gaining or losing any momentum. Such a big part of Reigns' presentation is the dominance of The Bloodline as they hold all of the top men's championships. While there are plenty of chances for WWE to make major missteps with winners on the card, having Rousey end Morgan's reign and regain the title may be the biggest one. Having Belair beat Lynch at WrestleMania to become champion once again was something of a make-good on that mistake, but allowing her to retain at SummerSlam would help in removing that stain from Belair's resume. It's time for one of the flagship events on the WWE calendar. Reigns has dispatched of basically every quality contender, leading the promotion to return to the well of Reigns vs. Reigns unified the titles by beating Lesnar in the main event at WrestleMania.

Logan Paul: The Miz and Paul teamed at WrestleMania to defeat The Mysterios. After that match, Miz turned on Paul, attacking him and landing a Skull-Crushing Finale. Paul eventually began posting on social media angling for a one-on-one match with Miz. After it was announced Paul had officially signed a WWE contract, the talk amped up with Miz refusing to grant Paul the match. McAfee has put on several very fun performances in NXT and even had a solid match with Theory at WrestleMania. After beating Theory, McAfee lost an impromptu match to Vince McMahon. Corbin has not won a pay-per-view match -- including being on the losing side of two Survivor Series tag matches -- since December 2019. Lynch has taken issue with the fact that she did not get an immediate rematch against Belair after the WrestleMania loss and continued angling for the match until it was finally made official. McAfee finally laid out a challenge for a match at SummerSlam. After the conclusion of Money in the Bank, Corbin attacked McAfee and accepted the match. Lashley, meanwhile, will be looking to build momentum as the holder of a secondary title after previously being in the mix as a world title contender. Theory: Lashley beat Theory to win the title at Money in the Bank. Theory's night would get much better by the end of that show, being given a spot in the Money in the Bank ladder match and winning the contract. That's good news for fans as there's potential for an even better match between the teams on the big stage of SummerSlam. Authority figure Adam Pearce announced Tennessee's own Jarrett as the special guest referee for the match. The build to the show has reached its conclusion and all the pieces are in place for a great night of action. Undisputed WWE Universal Championship -- Roman Reigns (c) vs. Reigns will defend his undisputed championship against Lesnar in a Last Man Standing Match that will likely see the two men tear each other apart. He should return to the mid-card picture, or possibly even a program with AJ Styles. It's also likely that Ciampa and Styles will take things a bit further. He clotheslined The Miz outside the ring to start the action and then nailed a springboard moonsault. What's next: Clearly, it'll be Bayley and Belair feuding over the Raw women's championship after her long-awaited return. In what is being billed as their final face-off ever, Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar will vie for the undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event, a rematch of their bout at WrestleMania 38. Then, he tossed The Miz into another one of his own moves, the Figure Four, and followed it with a flying crossbody from the top rope. The Miz takes on Logan Paul in one such matchup, while former NFL punter and SmackDown analyst Pat McAfee is pitted against Happy Corbin in the other attraction. After Styles chased Ciampa out of the picture, Logan hit The Miz with Styles' finisher, The Phenomenal Forearm. Then, in the biggest spot of the night so far, Paul sent The Miz through the announce table with a Frog Splash. AJ Styles' music hit and came Paul's aid. Will those ominous vignettes that air each week on Raw and SmackDown lead to Edge's return? Once back in the ring, The Miz attempted to punch Logan Paul with a chain wrapped around his wrist, but Logan evaded the shot and hit him with The Skull Crushing Finale for the 1-2-3. Plenty of other titles will also be up for grabs. A No Disqualification tag-team match featuring The Judgment Day vs.

- Both women went all out with their gear for this show. Even something like a wristlock looks a little smoother when it's her doing it. Surprisingly, Lynch offered her hand as a show of respect and they hugged to a nice reaction from the crowd. This match was physical from the first bell and stayed competitive the whole time. This feud has spanned an entire year since Big Time Becks returned last year to defeat The EST in 26 seconds, so this was Belair's chance for redemption. - The Usos vs.

They went to the middle rope, Belair hit a Spanish Fly slam from there and Belair hit the KOD for the pinfall win after 15 minutes. Belair with a slam onto the top of the barricade, but Lynch managed to slam Belair onto the barricade instead. Io Shirai made her entrance to join Bayley and Kai in the aisle while they stared at Belair in the ring. Belair went up top, Lynch stopped her there and Lynch pulled Belair off the ropes by the hair. Belair wanted the KOD again, Lynch landed on her feet and Belair came back with a spinebuster. Lynch escaped a move by Belair with Lynch going for her armbar, but Belair managed to get out of the ring.

This was an excellent time for them to drop the belts and chase for a little while--and create more stakes leading into the main event. It's a lot of Liv almost dying but finding a way to wiggle out of the circumstance she's in. And I have to be honest, having Finn take the loss here is just a horrible decision. This was never going to be a technical marvel of a match. And we got this really great moment at the end where the two shook hands, and it was just such a great way to start off the show. Chris and I are the target audience for this match. I think my big takeaway from this match, though, is what is there for Paul to do in WWE beyond feuding with The Miz? He's way too green to be any sort of title contender and he's absolutely not going to go on the road with WWE. It's a goofy rivalry they have and that's fine, but it's not sustainable long-term. And I love the idea of these three as a heel stable. So glad this is the match kicking things off and getting a fresh and enthusiastic crowd. Anyway, I really enjoyed this match, and the pop from the crowd when Bianca gave Becky the KOD at the end of the match was amazing. One of the biggest moments was Brock Lesnar bringing a tractor to the ring, then lifting the entire ring during the match. The biggest match on the card was Undisputed Champion Roman Reigns taking on Brock Lesnar for both of the head of the table's titles.

Only Ripley still comes off as a true threat, and with Raw's women's division growing, she could even find herself outside of the title picture there. The only concern is that he remains a more natural heel than a face. He is putting in the work to look as clean and capable as possible. These were the true winners and losers from an action-packed SummerSlam. The Miz were just a few of the great matches. The Judgment Day continue to lose badly, this time with Edge's interference.

As weak as this made Theory look, the fact that his night is not over yet should make him very nervous. Edge returned with a theme that seemed to sample his Brood theme. She was selling her shoulder big time the whole way. It appeared fairly early on that Lynch may have hurt her shoulder, but she went ahead and worked the match like normal. Oh yes, Bianca Belair once again came into the big show as champion, this time holding the Raw women’s title, and defended it against Becky Lynch.
The social media star was much better than you might expect in his first big time singles match.
They did a spot where Paul hit Miz with a frog splash through the announcer’s table, but when he went to pin him back in the ring, Maryse hopped the apron. When he was open to working together, they put him in a tag team match alongside The Miz at WrestleMania and wouldn’t you know it, he looked pretty good! Good enough that they ran an angle where Miz turned on him and he was later signed to an actual contract.

McAfee hit his leap to the top rope for a superplex, though not without some issues with landing on his knees first, and began to take advantage of Corbin mistakes before a swanton to the outside onto a standing Corbin. McAfee accidentally sent Corbin into the referee but took advantage of the situation with a kick to Corbin's groin before hitting a code red for the win. In the end, Reigns, with the help of The Usos and Paul Heyman, was able to once again defeat Lesnar to remain undisputed champion. Lynch continued to cut off Belair's attempts to regain momentum at nearly every turn for a long stretch of the match until Belair was able to hit a counter of her own outside the ring, hitting a facebuster onto the ring apron before managing to suplex Lynch onto the ringside mats.

Then, for good measure, The Bloodline buried The Beast under the broken announce table and a pile of steel steps as Lesnar finally failed to make it back to his feet at the count of 10. Lesnar then ate Superkicks from The Usos and a Spear from Reigns but Brock somehow got back to his feet at nine. After that, it was time for Suplex City and an F5 before Lesnar locked in a Guillotine. On each occasion, Reigns managed to get to his feet at nine as he desperately clung on to his Undisputed WWE Universal Title reign. Before the match officially got underway, Brock Lesnar put on a cowboy hat and flannel vest and drove to the ring in a tractor. Theory's music then filled the arena and he decked Reigns with the Money In The Bank briefcase! Ford for some reason decided to take out his frustration on Jeff Jarrett but that would come back to haunt the challengers as Montez Ford was decked by The Usos on the outside before the champions flattened Angelo Dawkins with Double Superkicks and a 1-D to retain the gold. Liv managed to escape a second time, however, as Morgan writhed in pain and WWE's medical officials were asked to check on the SmackDown Women's Champion. Morgan demanded to continue, only for Rousey to lock the Armbar in again. Paul then upped the ante and he took out The Miz with a huge Frog Splash from the top rope through the announce table! This prompted Logan Paul to channel his own inner Styles and he hit The Miz with a Phenomenal Forearm back in the ring. McAfee dug deep upon seeing his colleague get hurt and he decked Corbin with a Superplex back inside the squared circle. That looked to be it but Belair managed to get her shoulder up at the very last moment.

Even though it wasn't at that level, this was still a great match filled with some high-flying moments that showcased the qualities of both teams. Miz did a great job of picking up heat with Ciampa and Maryse trying their best to pull out cheap heat, but in the end, Paul was able to connect with a Skull Crushing Finale to get revenge. However, it was a decent enough encounter and was mainly set up as a huge angle for Edge to make his return, which was an epic moment in itself. This match started hot with lots of brawling, but then for some reason, they went into normal tag team rules despite the fact they had a no disqualification stipulation to play with. There was nothing special about it, but overall this proved to be entertaining, and that is ultimately the crucial element of any match. Certain moves didn't look great, and that was a problem overall, but this one wasn't so much about the in-ring quality.
Roman Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar in an insane Last Man Standing match.
Finally, Reigns gets the Universal Championship and hits Lesnar with it. The Usos then clock Lesnar with a double Superkick, and Reigns lands a big Spear for another 9 count. The WrestleMania 38 main event match between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar was underwhelming. Reigns grabbed the WWE Championship and smashed Lesnar with it -- another 9 count. Reigns then setup another table and slammed Lesnar through it with a Uranage. Lesnar and Reigns immediately started brawling on the outside, going through the crowd and onto part of the stadium's staging.

Brock Lesnar saluted the crowd, and weather and traffic posed threats to SummerSlam 2022 live.
In at least the case of SummerSlam 2022, this was true, though, with traffic moving very slowly in I-40 and a great deal of congestion in the immediate vicinity of the Nissan Stadium. Some fans were visibly still filing into their seats as late as The Usos vs. Given the angle of the entranceway he spoke from, that meant a pretty small percentage of the fans in attendance could actually see him or the award recipients at first. It felt as though there was a possibility the fans filing out of the stadium got his last farewell from the WWE ring for a good, long while. The organizations were Meals of Hope, Pencil, and Musicians on Call. Unfortunately, the proceedings were a little undermined because WWE didn’t show O’Neil on the big screens until a minute into his presentation. It was the first PPV to occur for WWE without Vince McMahon at the creative helm, not to mention that the event shared a weekend with Conrad Thompson’s Starrcast and the Ric Flair’s Last Match event. It’s not uncommon to see some Ric Flair t-shirts at any given wrestling event, given The Nature Boy’s iconic status in the business.

SummerSlam was the first show under the Triple H regime, and it largely was a success. Bobby Lashley defeated Theory in under five minutes to retain the United States championship in a match that was mostly meant as a reminder that Theory could play spoiler later in the show, which ended up not happening. McAfee impressed during his run in NXT, and this was his first match on the main roster where he didn’t have an impromptu wrestling match with a 76-year-old immobile man. But they do have a direction going forward, as it’s clear Edge will likely face off against Judgment Day in some sort of match down the line, probably at Clash of the Castle. Commentary felt much more at ease, with announcers less focused on trying to argue with one another and refrained from drowning the home audience with branding and buzzwords, a McMahon staple that had intensified in the last year. As many will likely do in the weeks following Vince McMahon’s shock resignation from WWE on July 22, it was easy to see the Triple H changes during SummerSlam, most of them being for the better.
If this was truly the end of the Roman Reigns-Brock Lesnar rivalry, it went out in a blaze of glory. Inside Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Reigns beat Lesnar ...
Lesnar then moves the tractor and takes Lesnar out of the ring. He hits a boot to Priest and a spear to Balor. He lands a spear to Priest. Double 619 to Balor and Rey pins him for the win. Lesnar hits him with an F-5, and then the Usos superkick Lesnar. Spear by Reigns onto the championships. Lesnar uses the tractor to move the ring. McAfee lands a standing Swanton to the floor. Montez Ford is in the ring and picks up the pace. In the ring, Rey honors Eddie Guerrero. Dominik is in the match but is overpowered by Balor. Priest in the match now and dominates Dominik. Balor now mocks Eddie Guerrero while not giving Dominik a chance to get some rest. Lashley and Theory exchange punches in the middle of the ring. Rollup by Belair and one by Lynch. Up top, Lynch goes for the Manhandle Slam, but a Spanish Fly counter by Belair and then a KOD secures the win for the champion. Paul clears the announce table, puts Miz on it, and lands a frog splash to the outside onto Miz. Maryse distracts the ref, Miz almost hits Paul and Maryse with a chain, and Paul lands the Skull Crushing Finale for the win. The bell rings and Theory tries to outstrike Lashley. Lashley gains momentum, however, and drops Theory to the floor. On the outside, Lynch lands a leg drop from the barricade.
It's time to react to what WWE did at SummerSlam with Roman Reigns facing Brock Lesnar in a memorable match, Bianca Belair vs. Becky Lynch and more.
We start the match with a brawl and the Mysterios get the upper hand. Reigns goes down and the Usos show up to fight Lesnar. Lesnar wipes out the Usos and they are unable to answer the 10 count.
