“It probably had to do with the HVAC system. It didn’t have to do with anything else in the building that we can tell. After the 2005 fire, it took two years before the restaurant reopened. From the damage I’ve seen it’s pretty much done.” Two employees, who asked not to be named, said it smelled like gas. They also said extra employees were working today with a wedding scheduled.

Cambridge Fire shared on Twitter that the Zehrs grocery store in Cambridge donated food to the first-responders on scene while the battled the fast-growing blaze on Saturday. According to the Cambridge Fire Department, the fire has been extinguished as of Sunday morning and the Puslinch Fire and Rescue Service will start to investigate the cause of fire. Five fire departments were called to the scene to put out the fast-growing fire including firefighters from Guelph and Cambridge.
