Daniel Cormier thinks Alexander Gustafsson should hang up his gloves after losing at UFC Fight Night 208.

Gustafsson took Cormier to the brink in their light heavyweight title bout at UFC 192 in 2015. He also gave former light heavyweight king Jon Jones arguably the toughest test of his career in a historic battle at UFC 165. Gustafsson (18-8 MMA, 10-8 UFC) suffered his fourth straight loss when he was knocked out by Nikita Krylov in the first round.

Today's UFC London event featured the return of Alexander Gustafsson who collided with Nikita Krylov in a light heavyweight contest.

It was a massive win for ‘The Miner’ and likely spelled the end of Gustafsson’s fighting career. Gustafsson (18-8 MMA) had entered the contest looking to snap a three-fight losing skid. Krylov hurt Gustafsson badly on two occasions, the second of which ‘The Mauler’ could not recover from.

After surviving for a short time after, Gustafsson was dropped once again and Krylov jumped on him to finish the fight via TKO. “The Miner,” now on his second stint with the promotion, came up short in London back in March, when he was submitted by Paul Craig. Achieving a much different result Saturday, he in turn called out Volkan Oezdemir for a fight at UFC 280 in the fall. It was Nikita Krylov welcoming “The Mauler” back to 205, in what was likely the biggest fight of his career.
