Juventus returns to FIFA 23 with a significant change (JuveFC)

Juventus' deal with Konami means they have been named Piemonte Calcio in the latest editions of the FIFA games.

However, it will be different in the next edition of the game. It was trophyless in the last campaign, and that needs to change in this one. A report on Tuttomercatoweb claims their deal with Konami ends this season and their name and logo will return to the game.

FIFA 23 for PC will finally be brought in line with top-flight PS5/XBX ... (Rock Paper Shotgun)

EA have revealed that FIFA 23 on PC will feature the snazzy Hypermotion technology that current-gen console players have been able to enjoy for some time.

That seemed a bit odd due to the relative power of our favoured beige boxes compared to consoles, all things considered, but in previous years EA have said this was to keep the minimum specs low to encourage more people to play. The inclusion of Hypermotion2 means that the PC version of FIFA 23 will be in line with what players experience on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Google Stadia. That’s good for more than one reason, because the new game will also allow crossplay between all current-gen platforms, PC and Stadia – just only in 1v1 mode. EA also confirmed that FIFA 23 would feature two officially licensed World Cups for the first time: World Cup Qatar 2022 and the Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023.

'FIFA 23' will not include Russian teams to show "solidarity" with ... (NME.com)

EA Sports has shared that Russian clubs or the country's national team will not appear in 'FIFA 23' due to the invasion of Ukraine.

Beyond the lack of Russian teams, yesterday (July 21) EA shared a first look at what else FIFA 23 will bring – including women’s club football, a first for the series. In other gaming news, Pokimane has announced that she is taking a break from streaming in order to give herself time to focus on her mental health and real life. Weeks after Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine in February, EA Sports joined the games industry’s condemnation of the military action by removing all Russian players and clubs from FIFA 22.

Hands-on: FIFA 23's main new feature reminds us of eFootball (Video Games Chronicle)

EA is looking to end the FIFA series with a bang…

We’d imagine there has to be an option to turn it off because it’s far too silly to be taken seriously. Others are defined as ‘lengthy’ and may start off slow but can eventually build up a faster top speed. The net has also been given an upgrade. It’s a risk/reward system that works well in eFootball, and just as well here too. This isn’t the only new addition to how FIFA 23 plays on the pitch (even though it feels like it’s the most important). EA has added a number of other improvements designed to make sure the final FIFA will be the most engaging to date. FIFA 23 – the last game in the series to feature the FIFA branding – has introduced a new technique that may just revolutionise the way the game is played.

VFL briefly hypothesizes in their letter to EA that perhaps the lack of support for Pro Clubs is one of the things the studio referenced when its CEO told employees the FIFA name is holding them back. Well, a strongly worded tweet courtesy of VFL (via Push Square). VFL has been playing Pro Clubs for a decade and appears to be one of many who believes the lack of cross-play for the mode in FIFA 23 could well be one of the final nails in its coffin. Claiming to have been overlooked and forgotten about by EA for years, the Pro Clubs community has reacted to the mode's cross-play omission in the form of a strongly worded letter.

FIFA 23 crossplay: Online multiplayer & cross-gen explained (Radio Times)

How does crossplay work in FIFA 23, and it is cross-gen to boot? Here's everything you need to know about cross-platform online multiplayer.

So, what's the deal with FIFA 23 crossplay? You can unsubscribe at any time. We've got more details on all that below. EA has confirmed on its official website that FIFA 23 crossplay will be available in these modes: "FUT Division Rivals (except Co-Op), FUT Champions, FUT Ultimate Online Draft, FUT Online Friendlies (except Co-Op), FUT Play a Friend, Online Friendlies, Online Seasons (except Co-Op Seasons) and the Virtual Bundesliga competitive game mode that is available to players based in Germany." And now, steps in that direction are finally being taken. There are a couple of bits of small print to be aware of here, though: crossplay will only work in FIFA 23's one-versus-one modes, and it will only connect players on the same generation of systems.
