Exciting Liverpool playmaker will flourish for Jürgen Klopp as Fábio ... (Liverpool.com)

Split Opinion: Liverpool fans have seen an exciting glimpse of Fábio Carvalho in a couple of positions. Two of our writers have their say on where he is ...

At youth level, while Carvalho has at times played on the wing, he has predominantly featured in the middle as a number 10 and that is where I see him playing at Liverpool, too. That's a role that I really think he could excel in for the long term and it would excite me as the next generation of the Liverpool midfield (perhaps even with Harvey Elliott doing the same thing from the right). Should Liverpool move to a 4-2-3-1, he could also play as a number 10, while Jürgen Klopp suggested last week that he could also play as a false nine at some point in the future.

Darwin Núñez knows what comes next as Liverpool star's social ... (Liverpool.com)

Darwin Núñez has been majorly criticised for his performance against Crystal Palace in the pre-season friendly in Singapore, yet Liverpool know the reality.

Núñez's tweet (above) was seemingly a response to the criticism, and the best way of shutting that down is to keep working hard. And once he gets going, Núñez will offer the kind of aerial physicality and off-the-ball movement that Liverpool haven’t had in a centre forward for a long time. And one more time, it’s worth remembering that his bad performance came in a pre-season friendly, in Singapore, in July. One would expect a match between Liverpool and Crystal Palace in a pre-season friendly played on the other side of the world not to mean very much to most people. Núñez is still only 23, and patience is very much needed in regards to learning how to fit into Jürgen Klopp’s system and what the German coach wants from him. Núñez has been training with Liverpool and his new teammates for less than a week, so it’s only natural that the bedding in process would take time.
