The former Wild head coach was greeted by the WWE superstar during the NHL Draft.

After fumbling over his words, he even offered to become Owens' new manager calling himself "The new Lou Albano." He asked Owens when he was going to return from his current injury and when he was getting his title shot. Boudreau is a long-time wrestling fan and when he was hired by the Canucks last December, he brought a WWE Championship belt into the locker room to celebrate the player of the game.

In the past, Redmond has teased Boudreau about his WWE fandom and even got the Canucks Coach to talk in-depth about his love for the WWE and Owens. During an interview with Sportsnet in Canada, Owens stated the feeling was mutual and that he was also a big fan of the Canucks coach. It was reported a day later by Dave Meltzer of the “ Wrestling Observer” that Kevin Owens was dealing with a minor issue and that’s why he didn’t appear. One of the NHL Network’s broadcasters also asked Owens jokingly to hit his finisher on Boudreau to which KO responded that he isn’t cleared to compete.

Kevin Owens popped up during the NHL Draft and surprised a big fan of his, head coach of the Vancouver Canucks, Bruce Boudreau.

It was a really cool moment and you could see Owens was giddy that the coach was so happy they got to meet. Among them, he asked if the WWE wrestlers knew when their draft took place and if they were going to Raw or SmackDown and Owens said no. Immediately, Boudreau was at a bit of a loss for words with his favorite WWE wrestler in the house.

Après tout, Kevin Owens est le 2e lutteur préféré de Boudreau de l’histoire. Ce n’est quand même pas rien. L’amour de Bruce Boudreau pour la lutte est bien documenté. Même si ce ne l’était pas, on dirait que personne n’est surpris. Le parquet du Centre Bell est rempli de joueurs intronisés au Temple de la renommée et pourtant, aucun de ceux-ci n’aurait pu ramolir les jambes de Bruce Boudreau comme l’a fait une vedette de chez nous.

Kevin Owens a fait une apparition pour le moins remarquée quand il s'est présenté devant les caméras du réseau NHL Network.

Visiblement étonné, il a affiché un sourire éloquent en serrant la main d’Owens venu à sa rencontre au beau milieu de son intervention télévisée. À l’écran, on a tenu à rappeler que le natif de la Montérégie était en fait le lutteur préféré du pilote des Canucks. Ce dernier était un spectateur attentif au repêchage amateur de la Ligue nationale de hockey (LNH) et il a fait une apparition pour le moins remarquée quand il s’est présenté devant les caméras du réseau NHL Network. À ce moment-là, Boudreau – un admirateur du lutteur de la World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) – discutait avec les animateurs de sujets en lien avec le hockey.
