- Lashley narrowly caught Theory in a fireman's carry and sent him into the ring post. Even in defeat, it would be a huge sign of trust in the young star. The match, like the Raw and SmackDown women's divisions of late, was hardly perfect. Every time Lashley attempted to mount a consistent comeback, the young prodigy cut him off. Shotzi vs. Instead of Big Time Becks capturing what almost certainly would have been another title reign, the lone survivor of The Riott Squad paid off her arduous journey in grand fashion. She earned this win and whatever comes as a result of it. Asuka vs. - Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Alexa Bliss vs. Sheamus vs. Riddle vs. - Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Drew McIntyre vs.
The annual event is highlighted by the men's and women's Money in the Bank ladder matches with significant stakes for the winners.
Inside the briefcase is a contract to a championship match of their own choosing. The stakes are high as the winner of each match secures the briefcase hanging on a hook above the ring. The next premium live event by the WWE rolls into "Sin City" on Saturday as Money in the Bank takes place from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The women's Money in the Bank field consisted of Becky Lynch, Lacey Evans, Liv Morgan, Alexa Bliss, Raquel Rodriguez, Asuka and Shotzi.
In addition to Morgan, who has never held a championship in her career, upstart Raquel Rodriguez, Shotzi and Lacey Evans are also chasing their first championship win on the main roster. - Asuka Even though Becky Lynch led the field, listed at +150 to win, WWE’s storyline of Lynch’s mental lapses and string of losses made her a very risky and vulnerable favorite.
The WWE Money in the Bank event featured two huge ladder matches with a valuable contract on the line along with four title matches rounding out the card.
Dawkins with a punch to both Usos, Ford tagged in and Jimmy saved Jey. The Usos sent Dawkins into the ring post and The Usos hit a double superkick for a two count. Raquel stopped an Asuka climb, then Asuka fought back and Raquel hit Asuka with a lefty clothesline on the floor. Lynch hit her more with her backside and it wasn’t a leg drop through the ladder, but Lynch slid off while bumping to the floor.
411's Rob Stewart checks in with his look at tonight's WWE Money in the Bank 2022 premium live event...
good on WWE for going with a young guy who is new to the main event scene! It’s time for the Men’s Money In The Bank. And I have NO IDEA who is going to win this, though the pre-show made the ENTIRE STORY about Riddle, so… I’m spending almost the entirety of this match trying to figure out what the problem is with my computer. I thought adding him to this contest was just a red herring, but it’s not. The ones that are too wet, and the ones that are too dry. 9:51pm: The Usos won, and the match did pick up dramatically in the back end, so that is nice. I definitely thought Theory was going to walk out with the belt. I guess it’s the first color change she has had since she came to the main roster. I can put aside all the work I have for four hours a month to enjoy these. And I barely know who is in those. This is another WWE PPV that I did not realize was happening until I found out the day before. Also: I love you, and I want to know how your day is going, too!
Theory lost his United States Championship to Bobby Lashley earlier in the night, but amid rumors of a big match against John Cena, Vince McMahon's hand-picked ...
WWE Money in the Bank presents WWE with a rare opportunity to potentially dethrone Roman Reigns, something that has not even come close to happening since his reign began in August of 2020. The fact that the winner is Theory adds fuel to that fire given Vince McMahon's elusive co-sign. Drew McIntyre has all but promised he will be Roman Reigns’ opponent for September’s Clash at the Castle premium live event in Cardiff, Wales, WWE’s first pay-per-view in the United Kingdom in 30 years. That would be a match, atmosphere-wise, that people would always remember.” Though Reigns is SmackDown’s biggest needle mover, there was clearly interest in Riddle chasing the WWE Universal Championship. “My dream situation is fighting for the title against Roman at the UK show.
Morgan won two major accolades in less than three hours at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Austin Theory (c) via submission to capture the U.S. championship. Raw women's championship -- Bianca Belair (c) vs. Undisputed WWE tag team championships -- The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso) vs. Ronda Rousey (c) def. The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford): Ford is generally perceived as the A-side of the Street Profits, but Dawkins really shined in this match. SmackDown women's championship -- Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Ronda Rousey (c) to become the new SmackDown women's champion. Morgan and the WWE universe celebrated her successful capture of the Money in the Bank briefcase on Saturday night. SmackDown women's championship -- Ronda Rousey (c) vs. The energy only escalated when she successfully cashed in on Ronda Rousey to claim the SmackDown women's championship.
Saturday's Money in the Bank pay-per-view from Las Vegas certainly made some bookies unhappy when a few of the results ended up surprising the majority of.
After he lost the U.S. title to Lashley, many were questioning what his next move would be, but they did not have to wait long for an answer. The fans love him and he seems comfortable in the role, so there is no downside to this. Ford and The Usos were hitting all of their usual big spots, but it might have been Angelo Dawkins who stood out the most. When The All Mighty actually won and held that belt above his head, the crowd exploded. The selfie-taking Superstar has been one of WWE's pet projects in recent months. But that's not where her story ended on Sunday. After Rousey successfully retained the SmackDown Women's Championships against Natalya, Morgan cashed in and became the new champion.
Liv Morgan wins a contract and cashes in to win, plus all the other winners and losers from Money in the Bank.
For a lot of fans, that happened at Money in the Bank. Jimmy and Jey were only half responsible, of course. Coming off the back of two great matches also didn't help, but the biggest thing going against this bout was what it was meant to be had it not been for Rhea Ripley's injury. Bobby Lashley versus Theory had the makings of a filler match, especially after the terrific bout that opened the show. The match itself was also pretty great, and while Morgan should be the proudest of all, everyone involved in this match should be happy with the effort they put in this evening. Money in the Bank kicked off with the women's ladder match after which the premium live event is named. That doesn't mean Money in the Bank isn't one of WWE's biggest shows of the year, though.
Morgan won the women's Money in the Bank ladder match and cashed in her briefcase that same night to become SmackDown women's champion over Ronda Rousey. Theory ...
However, even if that story works for her long term, WWE Money in the Bank 2022 was the low point of a rough year to date. This was certainly not the most crowd-pleasing end to a good night of wrestling, but it does mean Theory has gone from midcard to main event all in one show. While it is often good, their battle at WWE Money in the Bank 2022 was on another level. The action and drama proved the power of tag team wrestling at a level WWE rarely reaches. Winning Money in the Bank was a long time coming, finally rewarding her great work. WWE Money in the Bank has typically been one of WWE's biggest shows, but this night felt lacking on the surface.
WWE invaded Las Vegas on Saturday for its annual Money in the Bank pay-per-view event. Here are the final results.
From there, she knocked Lynch off her ladder and made the match-winning climb. Asuka vs. The match itself allowed for all seven women to get some shine at various points, each being a part of different high-action spots. The 2022 edition of WWE's Money In The Bank has come and gone. What were the best matches of the pay-per-view?
The match started slow and methodical, with The Usos working at a pace like Roman Reigns. But that was because they were given tons of time, and things steadily built up throughout. In the end, it was the late entrant Theory who won it, taking out Riddle after a match filled with carnage, great spots, and smart storytelling. The men did just edge things when it comes to the battle of the ladder matches this year, with a great encounter between many top stars. There were counters on display throughout, and that played into the finish with Lashley slipping out of the A-Town Down to set up the Hurt Lock for the win in a fun encounter. This one was all about the moment, and that was certainly an epic one, but the match wasn't memorable. This got a major reaction and seeing her capture the title was an amazing thing to witness, but in terms of a match, there wasn't much to write about.

Ronda Rousey (c) Ronda Rousey (c) def. The night was especially memorable for Morgan, not only got to the coveted briefcase ahead of Lacey Evans, Alexa Bliss, Raquel Rodriguez, Asuka, Shotzi, and Becky Lynch, but went on to cash in later that night after Ronda Rousey defeated Natalya in the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship title match, pinning the former UFC star to win her first ever world title.
Money in the Bank began the build-up to WWE's Biggest Party of the Summer, known as SummerSlam.
Morgan's story is about her being an underdog but despite enduring a brutal ladder match; she was still able to come out to the ring and go toe-to-toe with Ronda Rousey. Alexa Bliss opted to cash in her contract the same night she won the ladder match. However, there could have been a show-stealing return to pop the fans instead of a seemingly weird cryptic video. If WWE was going to see Theory beaten by Bobby Lashley so that he could go into the Money in the Bank ladder match, then there were better ways of going about it. Lashley may be the new United States Champion, but this completely undersells what he did to Theory in the match and how effective his Hurt Lock is. All other women after the inaugural winner have had relatively short reigns as Miss Money in the Bank.
Bobby Lashley defeated Theory by submission to win the United States Championship. Bianca Belair retained the Raw Women's Championship over Carmella by pinfall.
Having The Usos retain, but only by a bad call, was a great way to prolong this. Originally, this match was supposed to have a stipulation The Street Profits could choose, but WWE never followed through with that. - In a digital exclusive, Happy Corbin attacked Pat McAfee after the show. Carmella slotting in wasn't giving off vibes that the title would change hands, but WWE could have easily done a swerve for the sake of shock value and had Carmella score an upset. It will just be an active choice and not something that WWE can afford to passively hope will naturally happen on its own. But now that he has a belt of his own, it is also a good excuse for why he's not in the main event scene, allowing Brock Lesnar, Drew McIntyre and others to have their moments. Unfortunately, what could be considered a bad booking decision was to have Carmella attack Belair after the match, signaling this feud isn't over. The All Mighty wasn't able to get back the WWE Championship earlier this year, but this is a fine consolation prize. Sometimes, that results in the match immediately being restarted. Others have held a belt while being Mr. Money in the Bank, but one often gets sidelined while the other is focused on. After all, the past few years have seen her come up short in all her most important matches, so it was easy to assume that trend would continue. WWE Money in the Bank 2022 will certainly go down as an historic event.
One title that would not be on the line is WWE's top title as Undisputed WWE Universal champion Roman Reigns was out for the second consecutive pay-per-view ...
Please see the women's MITB recap above. It was better than any storyline-deficient tag team match from the Forbidden Door. This was a well-deserved feel-good moment for Liv. This match was unbelievable. The Usos Following Bianca Belair's win, Carmella started beating her down, leading to a buzz throughout the crowd as fans expected Liv Morgan to possibly cash in. - The Street Profits vs. Lashley winning was a surprise, especially considering WWE is "heating up" Theory for Cena. As of this writing, the event is a near sellout in its new home. Becky Lynch winning would have made MITB seem like a prop in a Becky Lynch storyline. This was a tremendous, old-fashioned babyface vs. Last week’s broadcast of SmackDown garnered 2.231 million coming off a massive number the week prior.
