Cosby had been in prison in Philadelphia for two years after being convicted of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman at his home in 2004. Cosby had been accused of sexual misconduct by dozens of women, with allegations spanning from 1965 to 2008 which he has denied. Cosby recalled that when he left the cell, ‘all of a sudden, I hear this in time — not the kind of applause that you get in the beginning or middle of your show — this is together clapping. ‘Thank you to all my fans, supporters and friends who stood by me through this ordeal. However, this month, a jury found that Cosby sexually assaulted a teenager at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles in 1975. I have always maintained my innocence.

Bill Cosby's "unjust conviction" was overturned by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court one year ago and the Ghost Dad star is celebrating the occasion.

A jury sided with the plaintiff and found Cosby liable for the assault, and he was ordered to pay $500,000 to his accuser. "I was in the bed, in the cot, and they opened the door because it's one o'clock, and about four or five guys yelling, 'Bill, get up! Bill Cosby speaks on prison release on one-year anniversary (Los Angeles Times)

One year after his sexual assault conviction was overturned, Bill Cosby reflected on being released from prison.

Earlier this month, Cosby found himself on the losing end of another, unrelated sexual assault case. “It was just quiet, and then all of a sudden, I hear — not the type of applause you get at the beginning or the middle of a show, this is together. “I said, ‘You’ve got to make yourself heroes and choose the correct people to be your heroes,’” he continued. However, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned his conviction in 2021, citing a “non-prosecution” agreement Cosby had made with a previous district attorney. And then it was all around the horseshoe.” Mr. Cosby, you’re free,” he continued.

Judy Huth first filed her civil lawsuit against Cosby in December 2014, alleging that the comedian molested her at the Playboy Mansion when she was a minor. Over the next few days, Huth said she and her friend were invited to Cosby's tennis club and then the Playboy Mansion, where they were instructed by Cosby to lie about their age and given alcoholic beverages. Eleven other civil cases against the comedian were settled while he was in prison. The comedian became embroiled by several sexual assault allegations beginning in 2014 and was convicted of aggravated indecent assault in 2018. A California jury last week found Bill Cosby liable for sexually abusing a then-16-year-old girl at the Playboy Mansion in 1975. The June trial was the first sexual assault case to move forward against Cosby, 84, since his early prison release in 2021.
