Environment Canada warns of strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain with thunderstorm.
Apart from these areas, a severe thunderstorm watch is also in effect for several other places like Prince George, Cariboo, 100 Mile, North Thompson and Okanagan Valley among others. Strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain can be expected along with the thunderstorm said Environment Canada in a statement issued June 28. A severe thunderstorm watch was issued early Tuesday morning for the Okanagan, but Kamloops was not placed on watch until early in the afternoon. A severe thunderstorm watch was issued over the noon hour Tuesday for Kamloops and the surrounding area. The severe thunderstorm watch for Kamloops has now ended, but a severe thunderstorm warning remains in place for the Shuswap. Severe thunderstorm watches also remain in place for a number of nearby areas, including the North Thompson, 100 Mile and the Okanagan.
