The Colorado Avalanche won the Stanley Cup. Nathan MacKinnon wants Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby to be drunk at his party...
It was tougher than the 1980s Battle of Alberta. The two best teams in hockey, over the course of a handful of years, each won Stanley Cups. It was a war. Vancouver Hockey Now: The Hockey Hall of Fame could have a big Canucks flavor. For those of you who weren’t around, it was a rivalry unlike anything in the modern era. He was an asset to the Avalanche defense. Tell me–who are the trusted peeps in print? Not going to lie, it was fun to watch the Cup presentation. Do me a favor, besides The Athletic, tell me your favorite Steelers coverage. The Colorado Avalanche are Stanley Cup champions. He got to lift the Cup on Sunday night. Different not less than the Penguins’ Cups. Jack was a tough interview here in Pittsburgh. When the crowd would gather, he would lean back and could be a little dismissive. Maligned former Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Jack Johnson hoisted the Stanley Cup as part of the Avalanche victory.
Cole Harbour's own Nathan MacKinnon is bringing the Stanley Cup home this summer, after the Colorado Avalanche won against Tampa Bay Lightning Sunday night.
“What makes us most proud of these guys is what great young men they are. “The fact that he’s made it this far is enough to be celebrated. Hopefully he can relax and enjoy it.” During the 2021-22 regular season, MacKinnon had averaged 1.35 points per game, with a total of 88. Whatever celebrations happen, MacKinnon expects fellow Cole Harbour hockey star Sidney Crosby to be there. The series ended 4-2 with Colorado coming out victorious, winning its first Stanley Cup in 21 years.
When Nate MacKinnon checked into the team hotel ahead of Game 6 at Tampa Bay, he knew the Avalanche were going to win after seeing his room number.
I have seen how hard he's worked to achieve this and glad that he's got rewarded and gets to experience everything that comes with winning. Now, he gets to have his own. When ESPN's Emily Kaplan asked MacKinnon what that meant, he explained: "Yesterday, my room number was 1787, so we just felt like it was fate.
What Sid had to say about the Nate Dogg joining him as a Stanley Cup champion.
Graham MacKinnon (2nd on left), father of Nathan, is looking forward to the— Mike Zeisberger (@Zeisberger) #StanleyCupparade in Cole Harbour ... and seeing Sidney Crosby’s father Troy there. MacKinnon also harnessed some of the classic Sidney Crosby superstitious nature to take a good sign from the universe for getting a hotel room with “87” in it in Tampa the day before Game 6. It's cool, I have my name engraved on the cup with 87, my idol, along with all the best players to ever play this game" #GoAvsGo Congrats to MacKinnon and what surely will be a fun day at some point this summer in Cole Harbour with two of the best in the world celebrating Nate Dogg’s turn at the top. Not too many people can relate to being number one overall NHL picks and from the same place like the two Cole Harbour natives can. "I've been the drunkest guy at two of his, so he better be drunk at mine.
As Nathan MacKinnon and the Avalanche gear up for their celebrations, he wants his good friend Sidney Crosby to be ready.
With that said, we’re pretty sure Crosby won’t have a problem being the “drunkest guy” this time when MacKinnon hosts his championship parties. After all, it’s his first ring and the Avs haven’t won the title since 2001–that’s more than 20 years of wait packed into one. Nathan MacKinnon is now a Stanley Cup champion for the first time in his career, and so as he and the Colorado Avalanche gear up for their celebrations, he wants his good friend Sidney Crosby to be ready.
Dave Sandford. Getty Images.By now I think everybody knows how close the Cole Harbour boys are together. Growing up and coming from the same town, ...
I don't see Crosby as the type of guy who is going to gas a whole case of Labatt to himself, but he could let loose a bit and dummy a sixer. For the purpose of legality here, we'll just assume that he was the drunkest guy at the latest two parties since he was still just a young pup the first time Sid won the Cup in '09. But if he got that bundled two summers in a row for '16 and '17, then Crosby can afford to return the favor by getting buckled this summer. Two guys from the same hometown, both drafted 1st overall, and now are both Stanley Cup Champions. All that is well and good, but also it could all mean absolutely nothing unless Sidney Crosby gets completely waffled at MacKinnon's Cup party this summer.
