Summer McIntosh wins gold in women's 400m individual medley at the 2022 World Aquatics Championship in Budapest, Hungary.

In the women’s 400m individual medley, McIntosh posted a winning time of 4:32.04, a world junior record. The medals for McIntosh, Oleksiak, MacNeil, Masse and Nicol will give them confidence as they prepare for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Katie Grimes of the United States won the silver medal with a time of 4:32.67. Emma Weyant of the United States won the bronze medal with a time of 4:36.00. McIntosh reached the podium by 5.85 seconds over Katinka Hosszu of Hungary, who finished in fourth place with a time of 4:37.89.
