He’ll also soon be seen in Starz’s revival of Party Down and Adam Shankman’s Disenchated, which has him reprising his Enchanted role as Prince Edward. She’ll next be seen in Thor: Love and Thunder and a live-action Little Mermaid film from Rob Marshall. Upcoming projects include the spy pic Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre from director Guy Ritchie, and John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein’s Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. Netflix won rights to the film in a competitive situation last year. Information on the roles to be played by Seinfeld and the newly introduced members of his ensemble has not been disclosed. Seinfeld’s relationship with co-CEO and CCO Ted Sarandos proved helpful in swinging the deal in the direction of the streamer.

Seinfeld has collaborated with Netflix on his interview series “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee,” as well as his latest comedy specials, 2020’s “23 Hours to Kill” and 2017’s “Jerry Before Seinfeld.” Netflix also recently landed worldwide rights to all 180 episodes of “Seinfeld.” Netflix has not clarified who any of the actors will be playing in “Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story,” which is expected to begin production sometime in 2022. The feature is described as “a tale of ambition, betrayal, sugar, and menacing milkmen.” Seinfeld produces with Feresten and Beau Bauman. Executive producers are Cherylanne Martin, Andy Robin and Barry Marder. Netflix acquired the project last year when it also picked up global rights to the classic Seinfeld sitcom for five years. Seinfeld will direct from a screenplay he co-wrote with Spike Feresten, Andy Robin and Barry Marder set in Michigan, 1963, as business rivals Kellogg’s and Post race to create a pastry that will change the face of breakfast forever.

“Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story” is directed by Seinfeld, who also co-wrote the film with Spike Feresten, Andy Robin, and Barry Marder. It’s set in Michigan 1963, when Kellogg’s and Post, sworn cereal rivals, race to create a pastry that will change the face of breakfast forever. The upcoming Pop-Tart movie had its origins in Seinfeld’s last special for Netflix. As he told Deadline back in June 2021, “Stuck at home watching endless sad faces on TV, I thought this would be a good time to make something based on pure silliness. The list of cast members suggests it wasn’t hard for Seinfeld to tap many of his comedy friends to come on board the feature, which was first announced back in mid-2021.
