We're back with another episode of the AFTN Soccer Show for your listening pleasure, with lots of Canadian national team and Vancouver Whitecaps chat.

But while that’s all been playing out, on the club side, the Whitecaps have hit some form and are climbing the MLS table. They now sit one point back of the playoff places. It’s not been a great couple of weeks for Canada Soccer. Instead of riding the wave, they’ve managed to fall into it and have been struggling to keep their heads above water.

The Canadian men's soccer team put a dramatic week behind them with a decisive 4-0 win over Curacao to open their CONCACAF Nations League campaign on ...

They finished the qualifying round with a 1-0 loss in Panama on March 30. Thursday's game marked the first Canada has played on home soil since clinching a World Cup berth with a win over Jamaica in Toronto on March 27. Canada did not play on Sunday against Panama after it issued a letter with multiple demands, including equal pay with the women's team.

Canada is set to visit Honduras on June 13 in CONCACAF Nations League play. Players also refused to practice last Friday and Saturday. Steven Vitoria and Lucas Cavallini also scored.

The Canadian men's national soccer team finally played a match at BC Place on Thursday, but it wasn't without interruption.

The protesters were greeted with a chorus of boos from fans, while they delayed the match for about five minutes. The “1022 days left” message was similar to a protest at the French Open in Paris last week. The pitch invaders appeared to be protesting against logging of old-growth forests and raising awareness about climate change. “Protecting our last remaining old growth forests is a complete no-brainer. “I told the Curaçao guy to just leave them.” Security appeared to be up to the players on the pitch for a moment, with Alphonso Davies and a few Curaçao players in close proximity.
