10 Biggest WWE Heel Turns Of The Past 5 Years (TheSportster)

In the past 5 years, some of the greatest heel turns have helped keep WWE talent interesting, while also helping to build out new stars.

His time on top of the wrestling world has not been easy, but his heel turn in 2020 has helped establish him as a true blockbuster star. Her turn helped catapult her to the top of the entire wrestling world. Compared to many of her contemporaries she was at the top of the list in terms of adoration from fans. Roman was one of the most hated wrestlers of all time. Her feud with Becky Lynch is one of the best clashes of characters in the history of the women's division. Her rise to the top of the women's division was inevitable, but her heel turn seemed less likely. It also helped her feud with Becky Lynch become a beloved fixture of wrestling and their rivalry has rewritten the history books for women in wrestling. His heel turn not only gave Styles a new dimension in this second half of his career but also helped Gallows & Anderson ascend to the top of the card. Flair's 2020 heel turn helped put her back in the main card. When he returned to the WWE in 2020 after retirement, he was way too loved by fans to be a heel. In 2019, when she turned her back on Natalya who was just talking about her deceased father, The Boss has been on a tear. After a great championship reign and a ton of great feuds, it seemed a way to inject steam into AJ was a heel turn.

Many WWE fans would love to see John Cena square off against Theory, but I'm sure many others are eager for the champ to get another opportunity at a WWE world title reign. A match against Cena, win or lose, would be a big moment in his early career, and a chance for Cena to help bolster a talent capable of carrying the WWE well into the future. WWE fans will get to see John Cena before the end of June, as he returns to Monday Night Raw to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his main roster debut.

WWE Raw Results: Winners, News And Notes As WWE Announces ... (Forbes)

WWE Raw results with Cody Rhodes' pec injury, John Cena's return this month.

It was a swerve, except the swerve was on Edge, who was attacked by The Judgment Day and its new leader Finn Balor. This match went through a commercial break, and Veer didn’t even get a submission victory, the match ended when Rey Mysterio went “full softball dad” and interfered on his son’s behalf. Kevin Owens accepted Ezekiel’s challenge, but only if Ezekiel would admit he was Elias. Fans popped for the potential. Similar to his feud against Damian Priest, The Miz wrestled in street clothes and was stripped down his underwear. This was not the squash match that seemed inevitable on paper. Street Profits feud feels like more of the same, but at least they have good matches. Cody Rhodes was treated like every bit the gladiator he is coming out of last night. Cena has teased a potential feud with Theory—whom Vince McMahon reportedly sees as the next John Cena. WWE refuses to beat The Usos, yet they also don’t put them over half the time, so The Usos have become the kings of the DQ victory. Rhodes was written off television during an injury angle when Seth Rollins took him out with a sledgehammer. - May 23, 2022 - May 30, 2022

Listen to Ring Rust Radio for all of the hot wrestling topics. He also starred as Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad that year, which led to a television series centered around the character on HBO Max. The eight-episode season debuted in January. He most recently had a small role in Judd Apatow's Netflix comedy movie The Bubble, which was released on April 1. From a pretty storied class of folks Batista, Randy Orton, Brock [Lesnar], we kind of all turn 20 this year, so I'm aware that that's coming around the corner, and who knows, but it's one of those hard truths to bear. "I know in WWE, I turn 20 pretty soon so that's a pretty big thing. There's a lot of cool stuff going on, and I don't want to say no to any opportunities that are on my doorstep.

He thanked Ripley and Priest for helping him open his eyes to the truth. - The swerve here was kind of surprising. Dom made the big man chase him in and out of the ring before Veer finally got his hands on him. - Speaking of Ford, he continues to pack on the muscle. That is when Theory's music hit and he interrupted to tell Lashley that he deserved this time instead of him. The A-Lister was forced to wrestle in his suit, but at least he took off his tie first. - As he walked to the ring, his right arm was just kind of hanging there. After a few minutes of Rhodes talking, The Visionary made his way to the ring looking a little banged-up, too. Everybody else had exited the ringside area, so it was just the champ and Big Time Becks to fight over the belt. As The American Nightmare turned to wave one last time, Rollins ran back out and attacked him with a sledgehammer. He said he saw all of the kind words on social media but he wrestled because it was his privilege. Here is a full rundown of the results from the PPV:

John Cena WWE's Return Announced During WWE Raw (Comicbook.com)

WWE officially confirmed on this week's Monday Night Raw that John Cena will be returning to the company on the June 27 episode of Raw in Laredo, Texas.

I don't want to go out there and be like, 'Okay, just let him go out there and (do his thing).' I'm not into that because I know what it's like to pay for a ticket. I will continually go out there and do what I can to contribute and add. I don't know what I'm gonna say.

WWE Raw results: Live recap, grades as an injured Cody Rhodes ... (CBSSports.com)

Rhodes beat Seth Rollins at Hell in a Cell but entered the match with a serious injury.

"You want that rematch? - Rhea Ripley def. After the match, Ezekiel challenged Owens to a rematch of their bout from Hell in a Cell. Owens agreed so long as Ezekiel admitted that he is actually Elias, which Ezekiel did. - Finn Balor joined The Judgement Day before the group turned on Edge. Balor said he spoke to Damian Priest after the six-person tag at Hell in a Cell and saw the light. - Veer Mahan def. - The Street Profits def. After Ciampa attacked Riddle, Miz quickly agreed to the match only to lose after Riddle stripped him of the tuxedo Miz was wearing to celebrate the season debut of his reality show. WWE pulled off two good swerves on the day with this segment and The Judgement Day violently kicking Edge out of their group (see below). That is unusual from the WWE writers' room. Becky Lynch via pinfall with an assist from Asuka. Lynch yelled at Reggie and Akira Tozawa before the match, saying her matches would no longer involve outside interference. For the success of this angle and the Judgement Day segment, this was a fairly strong episode of Raw in terms of pure storytelling. Rhodes was offered a stretcher to the back but refused and walked away. Rhodes opened the show with an in-ring promo following a video package covering his match with Rollins inside Hell in a Cell. Rhodes then cut an emotional promo about his love of what he does and his willingness to have wrestled through his torn pectoral tendon at the event.
