This is why the reveal of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is so exciting for a lot of fans. Solas was one of the least interesting of companions in Dragon Age: Inquisition — or the least interesting initially. Dragon Age games, up until this point, haven’t been direct sequels to one another. Solas, for a lot of players, was an ally, a trusted friend, and even a romantic partner. He’s one of the game’s many romantic partners, although he would only date you if you’re a female elf. If Solas had a Tinder bio, I imagine it’d contain the phrase, “Sorry, it’s just my preference.”

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf Officially Revealed by BioWare (PlayStation LifeStyle)

BioWare has finally revealed Dragon Age: Dreadwolf as the next game in the franchise, featuring the complicated antagonist of Solas.

EA had originally canceled Dragon Age 4 because it did not have any live-service elements, but after Anthem flopped and its reworking canceled, Dragon Age 4 was thankfully brought back to the table as a single player-only game. Given that he is a seemingly polite elven companion of the protagonist in Dragon Age: Inquisition for pretty much the entire game until his surprising heel turn near the end of the Trespasser DLC, many will understandably feel conflicted about him. There is no news yet on which platforms it will be on.

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf Could Feature both Open and Closed World ... (Game Rant)

BioWare is hiring for a new level designer role, and the job's description has fans speculating on future features for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf.

If Dragon Age: Dreadwolf allows for a mix of open exploration tied in with some linear moments akin to the experience of The Witcher 2, it is unlikely that ditching a full open world will make the game any less enjoyable on its own. The level designer position is specifically advertised as being for a Dragon Age title, with reference to the right candidate having experience in "closed and open-world layouts." However, now it seems that BioWare is gearing up for the floodgates to open for the upcoming RPG, giving it an official new title and logo recently.

Dragon Age: Who is the Dread Wolf? (Game Rant)

With Dragon Age: Dreadwolf's title promising a huge role for the character, it would be wise to get a quick overview of the elf behind the name.

Mythal was the only Evanuris to see the error of their ways, but in their lust for more power, the other members of the pantheon murdered the All-Mother. Solas trapped them in the Fade as punishment for their actions. Although there are many bits and pieces of info about the game that have appeared over the past four years, allowing series fans to bring them together, nothing incredibly concrete has been announced by BioWare about the story. Solas, being not a member of 'the Creators,' sought to free the enslaved which caused his peers to look at him with disdain, calling him Fen'Harel, the Dread Wolf, a name which he embraced. Once players reunite with him in the Inquisition DLC Trespasser, Solas admits the creation of the Veil led to irreparable damage caused throughout elvenkind. As an 'apostate,' Solas taught himself magic since he had no contact with the Circle of Magi or even the Dalish, and has a special interest in the Fade – a metaphysical realm tied to Thedas that is separated by the Veil. While most Thedosians are taught by the Chantry to fear the Fade and anything pertaining to spirits, Solas embraces it and seems to take every opportunity to learn about it. As such, the title may not be a surprise to longtime fans, though newcomers should get an idea of who the game's main threat is before more info on the sequel is released.
