With news of the Las Vegas Raiders working out Colin Kaepernick, we pose the question: would he be a better option at QB2 than Jacoby Brissett?

Jacoby Brissett is a fine NFL quarterback, and when called upon in sparse relief duty, can help you to not lose a game. A “stat” that everyone loves to look at is quarterback wins. What to know about Colin Kaepernick's workout with Raiders: Latest ... (Sporting News)

Colin Kaepernick had his first NFL workout since leaving the 49ers on Wednesday. Does that mean that he will return to the NFL and sign with the Raiders?

Kaepernick eventually settled his lawsuit with the NFL for roughly $10 million. He started for the 49ers in a 25-23 loss against the Seahawks. During the contest, Kaepernick completed 17 of 22 passes for 215 yards and a touchdown. The 49ers had planned to release him if he didn't opt out, so Kaepernick elected to get a jump on his free agency. He has missed five seasons but has stayed in shape and waited patiently for an opportunity to return to the NFL. However, only the Seahawks showed a legitimate interest in him, as he visited with Seattle but no other team. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder." In 2019, the NFL tried to organize a midseason showcase for Kaepernick. The workout was meant to be an olive branch of sorts as he alleged owners colluded to keep him out of the league due to his stance on social injustice. If our coaches and general manager want to bring him in or want him to be the quarterback on this team, I would welcome him with open arms." He has only visited with one other team to date — the Seahawks — and that occurred in 2017. He entered the league at age 23 after being selected in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the 49ers. That said, this workout seems to be the closest he has gotten to an NFL return during his five-plus-year absence from the game. Kaepernick, a former starter for the 49ers, hasn't played an NFL game since New Year's Day in 2017.

Again, I don’t want to be specific about whether it was him or anybody else, but that’s our job in personnel to be open-minded and creative about solutions and we’ll continue to do so.” The fact that Kaepernick hasn’t played in five years surely impacts his ability to perform at a high level now. And I remember turning to whoever I was with and I was like, ‘We’re winning this game.’ You talk about leadership and following somebody through something, that’s where that stamped to me who he was and I know that team — they had a lot of great players on the team that he was around. . . . . Kaepernick could, in theory, enhance several teams' quarterback rooms if given the appropriate opportunity. Mills threw for 1,258 yards while completing 68.2 percent of his pass attempts during the last five games of the season. Houston could replace Mills with one of the top quarterback prospects entering the 2023 NFL Draft. And for a quarterback room that features the likes of Kyle Allen, Jeff Driskel and Kevin Hogan, general manager Nick Caserio is satisfied with his current group. Pro Football Talk believes that Kaepernick will be a better option at quarterback for several teams entering the 2022 season once given a chance to knock off the rust. HOUSTON — Colin Kaepernick completed a workout for the Las Vegas Raiders Wednesday afternoon to continue his ongoing attempt at an NFL comeback.

"If there was ever going to be a year to hope (expect?) that this could finally be the year that the Buffalo Bills pull off the impossible and win the Super Bowl, this would be it. The league had access to more than 650,000 emails as part of its investigation into the Washington Commanders and Gruden is trying to figure out why the ones that damages his reputation were the only ones that leaked. It almost feels like he just wants to get revenge on the NFL, which means he might not be open for settling the case. They could let him play most of the preseason and if he's able to prove himself, that might be enough for a team like the Seahawksor Panthersto call about a possible trade. And when I prove that I'm a starter, I want to be able to step on the field as such." Basically, this seems like there's a situation where there's no downside for the Raiders. If they were to sign Kaepernick and he plays well, then Davis looks brilliant for being the owner who was willing to take a chance on him. If our coaches and general manager want to bring him in or want him to be the quarterback on this team, I would welcome him with open arms." For the rest of this week, there's going to be a noticeable theme on the Pick Six Podcast, and that theme is regular-season win totals. Kaepernick made it clear in April that he eventually wants to be a starter again, but for now, he'd be willing to settle for a backup position to get his foot back in the door, "I know I have to find my way back in," Kaepernicksaid at the time. With teams refusing to sign him, Kaepernick filed a collusion lawsuit against the NFL that was eventually settled in October 2019. After five years of being shunned by the NFL, Colin Kaepernick is finally being given an an opportunity at a return and that opportunity came on Wednesday when the Raiders gave him a workout. "When you look at it just like that, I think the Matt Ryan impact is going to be very significant for them.
