In an update posted at 4:22 p.m., the airport said airlines are working with their operations teams to determine the status of flights. Megan Batchelor, spokesperson for the Vancouver Airport Authority, said: “At YVR we are currently monitoring the situation at YYJ and working with our partners to accommodate any diverted aircraft. Specialists from the Lower Mainland are arriving at the airport to investigate the package, Sanchez said.
Passengers are being asked not to come to the airport and to check their carrier's website for updates.
