From Fifty Shades to New Girl, we're singing along to the best movie and TV moments featuring Swift's music.

Her roommate Nick came in and started wackily dancing to “22” as she cried with wine in hand. Although it only played during the credits, if you were a fan, you remember how memorable this release was to the movie and Swift’s growth as an artist. Along with soundtracking a lot of primarily sweet moments in movies and television, a Taylor Swift song also notably came on in 2015 disaster movie San Andreas right before a woman nearly fell to her death. More recently, Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” made a surprise appearance on the opening credits of Killing Eve, which Swift had been vocal about being a huge fan of previously. In an adorable moment that wraps up the movie, her original song “Today Was A Fairytale” plays. From her roots in country with her debut single “Tim McGraw,” to expanding to pop with 1989 almost a decade later, to her recent work that leans towards indie-folk, the singer has amassed a huge collection of songs.

Taylor Swift's commencement address to New York University's graduating class of 2022 was anything but "cringe."

Oh, and also cut to the graduating class of 2022, I guess. The people who wanted it the least were the ones I wanted to date and be friends with in high school. The people who want it most are the people I now hire to work for my company.” Most notably, Swift talked about “cringe,” emphasizing that no matter what, you’re eventually going to look back on your life and cringe about the things you wore, said, or did. “She touched on a lot of the same themes that we emphasized in the class: perfection, cringe, her passion for writing. The day that Swifties around the world, across the universe, and through space and time have waited for has finally arrived.

'Dr.' Taylor Swift at NYU: Read her full commencement speech (Los Angeles Times)

After receiving an honorary doctorate at New York University, pop musician Taylor Swift gave a rousing commencement speech to the graduating class.

Times when the right thing is to fight, times when the right thing is to turn and run. Sometimes the right thing to do is to sit and listen to the wisdom of those who have come before us. So will I. And when I do, you will most likely read about it on the internet. But because I felt alone, I would sit in my room and write the songs that would get me a ticket somewhere else. The people who wanted it the least were the ones I wanted to date and be friends with in high school. The people who want it the most are the people I now hire to work for my company. What I mean by that is: Knowing what things to keep and what things to release. But in this case, you and I both learned that you don’t always get all the things in the bag that you selected from the menu in the delivery service that is life. And as I would like to say to you wholeheartedly, you should be very proud of what you’ve done with it. As a kid, I always thought I would go away to college, imagining the posters I would hang on the wall of my freshman dorm. I imagine the idea of a normal college experience was all you wanted too. We are each a patchwork quilt of those who have loved us, those who have believed in our futures, those who showed us empathy and kindness — or told us the truth, even when it wasn’t easy to hear.

Are they promotions for aspirational pillows Taylor is selling on Etsy? Maybe they’re fortune-cookie messages.
