THE ROOKIE'S season finale has left fans feeling hopeful for a potential season five romance between Chen and Bradford.

ABC’s procedural drama The Rookie officially came to an end on Sunday after airing its season four finale. Although fans were gutted that the show will not be back on screens for a while, they shared their hopes for a season five romance after Chen (played by Melissa O’Neil) and Bradford (Eric Winter) shared a steamy kiss. Despite this, fans have remained hopeful after the two shared a number of close calls after getting to know each other on a deeper level. Over on CBS, 60 Minutes drew Sunday’s biggest audience (6.9 mil). The Equalizer (6.6 mil/0.5) dipped in the demo with its sophomore finale, while NCIS: LA (5.2 mil/0.4) and SWAT (4 mil/0.4) were steady. Leading out of Weakest Link (1.9 mil/0.3), NBC’s broadcast of the Billboard Music Awards slipped to new lows of 2.1 mil/0.5. Opening ABC’s night, AFV (4.7 mil/0.6) and American Idol (4.9 mil/0.6) were both down — yet shared the Sunday demo crown.

The Rookie fans are more than ready for Chenford to be a couple, and the Season 4 finale gave them a game-changing Chen and Bradford moment.

Chen and Bradford both acted like the kiss was strictly professional, but it was clear to all parties involved that it was much more. Nolan arrested the man at the top of the ATF's most wanted list -- but the next morning, a whole band of baddies showed up and tried to bribe him to release the suspect. Bradford started with a quick kiss, but Chen laid it on him. After "Dim" sang like a bird, the LAPD had all the information about who he was delivering the drugs to. As a play on their names, Chen decided to call the duo "Tim and Dim." Viewers immediately began speculating that The Rookie was opening the door for Bradford and Chen to finally become a couple.

There were a number of winners at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards but the annual ceremony didn't take home any primetime prizes on Sunday.

The Equalizer was about two-tenths down and about 11% short in viewers from its October premiere (0.7, 7.47M). A stable NCIS: Los Angeles (0.4, 5.19M) followed and S.W.A.T. (0.4, 4.00M) concluded the evening. CBS – After 60 Minutes was the season finale of The Equalizer (0.5, 6.62M). The Queen Latifah-led drama, stable from its previous episode, concluded Season 2 with a violent cliffhanger that leaves Robyn’s fate unclear. Later in the evening ABC’s The Good Doctor reaches its finale. AFV and Idol were both stable from the previous week and gained some ground in viewers. Fans of The Rookie will get even more of the series, considering it will return for a fifth season at ABC. The broadcaster has also picked up the spinoff featuring Niecy Nash to series. The ABC cop drama was at least stable in the demo and up in viewers from its Season 4 premiere (0.3, 2.80M in September 2021. FOX – Fox’s animation domination slate – Duncanville (0.1, 0.56M), The Simpsons (0.3, 0.94M), The Great North (0.2, 0.78M) and Bob’s Burgers (0.3, 0.097M) and Family Guy (0.3, 1.05M) – was steady from the previous week Monday primetime will be kind of an odd one with Fox’s 9-1-1 shows coming to season finales, while NBC airs Downton Abbey and ABC presents up. Taking home the night’s ratings prizes were ABC’s America’s Funniest Home Videos (0.6, 4.72M)and American Idol (0.6, 4.86M), which tied for Sunday’s highest demo. Per fast affiliates, the 2022 Billboard Music Awards delivered an average 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demo and 2.11 million viewers across its three-hour broadcast on NBC, slipping even lower from the previous year’s fast affiliates (0.7, 2.8M). Sunday’s awards ceremony, set at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, saw Rodrigo take home seven wins, Ye come in second place with six awards and Drake continue his streak as the artist with the most Billboard Music Awards of all-time.
