The Penguins star went on to play two more shifts before leaving the game for good. It's a frustrating injury and one that anyone has gone through can relate. He's since said that the work done by neurologists at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Centre and Ted Carrick, a Canadian chiropractic neurologist, helped him get back to playing hockey. Forward Brian Boyle was hurt early in Game 6 and is considered week-to-week with a lower-body injury, coach Mike Sullivan said. Jarry started 56 games this season, earning 34 wins and posting a .919 save percentage. Crosby fell to the ice, rose to his skates and immediately headed for the bench.

A Stars win would send them to the second round for the first time since their Stanley Cup final run in 2020, and Calgary is seeking its first playoff series win since 2015. A win would be massive for both teams, as Pittsburgh has lost in the first first round or qualifying round in each of the last three postseasons while New York hasn't won a playoff series since 2017. To close the first round, the Dallas Stars and Calgary Flames will battle at the Scotiabank Saddledome at 9:30 p.m. on ESPN2 and on fuboTV ( try for free). The series has been a goalie showcase thus far, as Dallas' Jake Oettinger is No. 2 in save percentage in these playoffs while Calgary's Jacob Markstrom is second in goals against average.

Sidney Crosby returned to practice but his Game 7 status is still unknown. NHL playoff series predictions and odds for the big game...

NY, AZ, CO, CT, IA, IL, IN, MI, NJ, PA, TN, VA, WV only. NY, AZ, CO, CT, IA, IL, IN, MI, NJ, PA, TN, VA, WV only. Must be 21+. AZ, CO, IA, IL, IN, LA, MI, NJ, NY, PA, TN, VA, WV, WY only. Even with the lineup uncertainty, it’s hard to look away from the price on Pittsburgh in this game. 21+. New customers only. However, it does seem that there’s a decent chance we see Crosby, Rakell, and Jarry in the lineup on Sunday night. Crosby’s absence since the middle of Game 5 has been especially profound since he was the best player in the series by a country mile. 21+. New customers only. Perhaps nothing portrays the disparity at 5-on-5 better than the following stat: Pittsburgh has created 103 high-danger scoring chances so far in this series, while the Rangers have generated just 51. But New York’s pedestrian 5-on-5 numbers weren’t an issue, at least not in the standings. New customers only. The Rangers were terrific down the stretch while the Penguins were pedestrian, New York had a huge edge in goal and the Blueshirts also had home-ice advantage.

He was still Washington's leading scorer in the Panthers series with seven points on six goals and an assist. Hagelin has been out since taking a teammate's errant stick to his left eye in practice March 1, rupturing the choroid so badly doctors considered removing it. They advanced to the conference semifinals and will face the winner of Sunday's Game 7 between the Penguins and Rangers. The Washington Capitals could be in for a long summer that bleeds into fall given the uncertainty surrounding Backstrom, Wilson and winger Carl Hagelin, who hopes to play hockey again after a scary incident almost cost him his left eye. MacLellan said it was not sustainable for the 34-year-old center to continue playing as he has since December. Wilson missed almost all of Washington's first-round series against Florida after tweaking his left knee avoiding a hit in Game 1 on May 3. Captain Alex Ovechkin said he's flying home to Moscow on Monday and won't need surgery on his banged-up left shoulder. Crosby has two goals and nine points in the series. He wants it to be better. McAvoy is $5,000 US lighter in the pocket after tripping Carolina blue-liner Brady Skjei during the third period of Saturday's game. I want to be back to normal, not worrying about this. The Pittsburgh Penguins head to the Big Apple to take on the New York Rangers in a winner-take-all Game 7 on May 15.

He has allowed 22 goals in just seven games and was a liability handling the puck against the New York Islanders last season. With him not playing his best and Jarry potentially coming into the series cold, there should be a lot of offence. The true wildcard in this game will be Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry, who is also a game-time call. Even if he plays and finds some of that regular-season form, he could still be in trouble against the Rangers. The pregame narrative: The Rangers have clawed their way back from a 3-1 series deficit to force a Game 7 at the world’s most famous arena. Pittsburgh is looking to advance to the second round for the first time since 2018.
