There are many parts of the world where wearing a mask in public, especially during cold and flu season, is commonplace. So, if you’re going to be, you know, in public, in an indoor setting with a bunch of other people, I would keep wearing the mask because COVID is still circulating, and the flu is still circulating and many other diseases are still circulating. And then we had a resurgence because of the Delta and the Omicron variant. Could there be a seventh wave in the fall? Does this mean that we may be turning a corner in terms of the sixth wave? I mean, the situation is obviously improving in Quebec in terms of the number of hospitalizations going down.

Pandemic indicators continue to decrease in Quebec as the province lifts its mask mandate on Saturday.

The percentage of people age 5 years and older in Quebec who’ve received a first dose is now a bit more than 91 per cent. The doses were mostly second booster shots. The province recorded 798 new cases, but the case tally only includes people who received PCR tests at government screening clinics.
