Witness have reportedly claimed that Sytch was “driving at a high rate of speed” prior to the crash. An earlier report from TMZ reported that police suspected that Sytch — who claimed via Twitter that she suffered a seizure before the accident — was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. Lasseter, who was driving one of those vehicles, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Back in March, Sytch was driving on a highway in Daytona Beach when she crashed her car into another vehicle that was stopped at a traffic signal. “The investigation may lead to criminal charges, which are pending toxicology results,” police said at the time. Sytch was taken to a local health center shortly after the accident, but was “later released after a search warrant was approved and executed to obtain a sample of her blood for investigation of impairment,” according to the police statement obtained by NBC News.
