Alex Moreno found himself in acres of space in the 64th minute. The ball fell straight to Dembele, but the Frenchman could not capitalise on his chance. The Brazilian crossed a lovely ball to Alba who sensationally struck the ball past Rui Silva to give Barcelona the win. The move began with Guardado finding Canales who controlled the ball and laid it off for Rodriguez. However, the forward’s shot hit the woodwork and the score remained 0-0. Eric Garcia replaced the injured Gerard Pique in central defense while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was benched for Ousmane Dembele in the attack. Meanwhile, the hosts found themselves in a must-win situation to keep their dream for a European spot alive.

Barcelona beat Real Betis 1-2 thanks to a last-gasp winner from Jordi Alba to confirm their place in the Champions League for next season.

Araujo was unlucky not to score when his header looked to be flying in only to be denied by a great save. Barca have some young stars in their team like Araujo and Gavi as well as quality via the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alba and Sergio Busquets, so adding to that spine will be vital. They called upon legendary player Xavi to guide them out of this mess and so he has done. When Ronald Koeman left the club the Catalan giants were in disarray. Xavi’s side scored first and it was the substitute Ansu Fati who put them ahead. Ronald Araujo’s bullet header was tipped onto the bar brilliantly by Rui Silva in the Betis goal.
