Allen notched a playoff career-high en route to Milwaukee's blowout win.
"Mentally my mindset [in my role] was the same, maybe I was a little bit quicker to shoot some of those catch-and-shoot shots I got, but I think it was just being in different spots," Allen said after the game. Knock down shots when the defense collapsed on Giannis and Holliday, get to the rim if the option was available and be aggressive on defense. While he came off the bench in this game, his role was still the same. It was a bulk of what resulted in a 17-9 lead for the Bucks, forcing the Bulls to take their first timeout of the game. Grayson Allen finished with a playoff career-high of 22 points, Bobby Portis tacked on 18 points, Jrue Holiday had 16 of his own and Pat Connaughton finished with 11 points. In the first five minutes of the game for the Bucks, center Bobby Portis drained two 3-pointers, Brook Lopez netted a triple of his own and Jrue Holiday had two smooth finishes at the rim.

Milwaukee was 3-2 in them, including a 28-point home win over the Bulls in March when Holiday led the team with 27 points and Giannis had 25. In 12 games without Middleton, Holiday's usage was 29.8 percent and his scoring was 18.7 points. In 55 games with Middleton this season, Holiday's usage was 22.5 percent and he averaged 18.2 points. In the nine games Giannis played without Middleton, that usage was 34.9 percent and the Freak's scoring dropped to 26.6 ppg. The Greek Freak had a usage percentage of 35 in the 58 games he played with Middleton and averaged 30.4 points. Milwaukee begins life without All-Star guard Khris Middleton, and with the expected heavier scoring load on Giannis Antetokounmpo he is given a season-high over/under points total of 34.5 at Caesars Sportsbook. Jrue Holiday is at 21.5 points.

We go over some of the best betting options for Friday's matchup between the Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Bulls.
The Bulls will get their points, while the Bucks will go on their runs and knock down some threes. Heading into tonight’s Game 3, I think the game script follows what we saw in Game 2. If DeRozan continues his excellent play, while the Bulls get 20-plus point each from Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic, they can steal Game 3. Without the All-Star guard, the Bucks will need Jrue Holiday and the combination of Brook Lopez/Bobby Portis to fill in that void. The Bucks will have to win tonight’s game and the series without Khris Middleton, who is expected to miss at least 2 weeks with a sprained MCL. That's a huge loss for Milwaukee and is the reason why the spread has dropped down to 2.5 points. This was a complete 180 from what we saw from the Bulls offense in Game 1.
The first round playoff series is tied 1-1.
The 4th saw DeRozan and Vooch push that lead back out to 16 just over two minutes in, but then Bucks then kept coming and coming, and while it wasn’t always pretty in the clutch, the Bulls did just enough to hold on. Milwaukee is slightly favored in this matchup, as the oddsmakers are just as unsure about tonight’s outcome as many of us are! There were those Pat plays near the end of the third quarter, only to see Giannis totally took over the game to get the Bucks within three, followed by the Bulls responding again with a 6-2 run to close the frame. Fortunately, Bobby Portis is expected to return to action after getting clobbered in the face (no foul called...) and suffering an abrasion to his eye. It’s not a great place to be, certainly not in the first round. The Milwaukee Bucks were largely favored in this series against the Chicago Bulls, but life comes at you fast.

Bulls predictions and picks in a single-game parlay, you could win $26.45 on a $10 bet? Despite the Bulls winning 114-110, the ShotQuality projected score actually had the Bucks winning 121-105. As long as they can continue to generate these quality looks, these games and the rest of the series should swing their way. Don't let all of the noise distract you from how good and experienced this Milwaukee team is. However, when contextualizing the four regular-season games within Friday's total of 222.5, all but one went over that mark. When looking at the last ten games played with and without Middleton, Giannis has surprisingly seen his scoring dip quite a significant amount (-8.2 PPG). However, Giannis does pick up Middleton's involvement as a facilitator, seeing his assists jump from 4.4 to 6.5 per game. But this is not the first time the Bucks have had to deal with injuries during the postseason. Then of course there was Giannis Antetokounmpo's knee hyperextension in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals, which caused him to miss the rest of that series prior to miraculously returning for the Finals. And although Middleton was having a down year by his standards (his 37.3% 3P% is a four-year low and four percent lower than last year), he still was averaging 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.4 assists on the year. He already ranked third during the regular season in usage rate, trailing only Luka Doncic and Joel Embiid. Or does Jrue Holiday try to channel his hot April, during which he averaged 20.3 points on 39.7% three-point shooting? Can the Bulls pull ahead of the reigning champions, or will Milwaukee grind out a win? And while Holiday sees a small jump during Middleton's absence (+3.0 PPG), it's actually Grayson Allen (+8.2 PPG) and Bobby Portis (+6.1 PPG) who benefit the most.

... Assistant coaches Chris Fleming and Damian Cotter were back with the team after missing the first two games because of COVID-19. Assistant Maurice Cheeks, however, was out because of a non-COVID illness, coach Billy Donovan said. ... The Bulls have not won a home playoff game since beating Cleveland in Game 3 of the 2015 Eastern Conference semifinals. And Allen finished it with a driving layup that bumped the lead to 46-22. And the Bucks' widest margin on the road was by 36 at Philadelphia in 1970. Coming off two shaky performances in Milwaukee, the Bucks quieted a raucous crowd watching Chicago's first playoff game at the United Center in five years. Allen helped squash the ''Let's go Bulls!'' chants, nailing four 3s and scoring 14 in the half. And the Bucks made it look easy, handing the Bulls the most lopsided home playoff loss in franchise history. Bulls: Chicago's most lopsided playoff loss was 115-78 at Miami in Game 2 of the 2013 conference semis. ''We took a punch the first game. ''We didn't have that same competitiveness that we had the first two games we had in Milwaukee,'' LaVine said. Game 4 is Sunday in Chicago. Without him, Allen said his own mindset didn't necessarily change, though the rhythm was different. I was able to take advantage of that.''
The series is tied 1-1 but the Bucks have a major injury concern heading into Chicago.

Grayson Allen came off the bench to score 22 points, including 5 three-pointers, to fill the scoring void left by the injured Khris Middleton.
"It's always about adjustments in a seven-game series," Portis said. Of course, we wish he was playing." "He said, 'Not yet.' Budenholzer emptied the bench with just over eight minutes remaining as Bulls fans streamed for the exits. The biggest thing, the challenge, is to give guys different looks. But I think it was just being in different spots, some of those spots that Khris is usually in." "That's why it's called a series. "Maybe it was a little bit quicker to shoot some of those catch-and-shoot shots I got. "We're just trying to win games," Portis said. "The guys off the bench were great. "It hurts for sure," Portis said. It's one of the things where you got to make an adjustment and just go hoop.
After this, the camera captured images of a dejected Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Vucevic sitting together on the bench as the Bulls fielded a squad ...
The Bulls never made a substantive run and frankly this game was hard to get through as a fan. The Bulls offense was broken throughout the game. The Bulls only took one free throw up to the 3:52 mark in the third quarter which suggests a lack of aggressiveness throughout the game. The most interesting part of the game at this point was seeing if the Bulls fans were booing their own players louder than Grayson Allen. There were several cutaways to absolutely stunned, devastated Bulls fans. Another sign of this is DeMar DeRozan taking just nine shots one game after his Herculean 41-point performance in Game 2. The Bulls found themselves getting dunked on by an Antetokounmpo, but not Giannis:

This game was a clear indication of what adjustments the Bucks made in order to slow down the Bulls offense. Portis made an instant impact by scoring 8 points in the first quarter and where he especially hurt Chicago was from deep. While the box score indicates they scored 26, 21 of those points came in the fourth quarter with the game already decided. It’s evident that the knee still seems to be bothering him and it’s affecting his play in this series. The Bucks packed the paint so they can easily help out in the mid-range so neither of Chicago’s two best players could get a clean shot off from that range. In the end, it was a 30 point drubbing as the series heads to Game Four on Sunday.
