Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said its Aurora detachment was "at the scene of a plane crash" near Buttonville Airport in Markham.

In a statement emailed to Global News on Thursday, a spokesperson for the Transportation Safety Board of Canada, said the aircraft was on “final approach to runway 15 at Buttonville” when it “collided with a light post and was found in a grassy area by Highway 404 near Runway 15, off of airport property.”
