North Carolina vs. Kansas picks, predictions, odds: Who wins ... (AZCentral.com)

North Carolina and Kansas face off on Monday night in the 2022 National Championship Game. Who will win the title?

Take Kansas to cover and cut down the nets." It’ll be the first time in a long, long time that Kansas has dealt with a physical style like this – three games against TCU were close – against a team that figured it all out." The Jayhawks are the deeper team and the better defensive unit. This is a legitimately tough game for Kansas. North Carolina has been playing like a top-10 team since late February. The Tar Heels have the size inside and the shooters outside to trade blows with the Jayhawks for 40 minutes. North Carolina has an 11-7-1 record against the spread and a 17-2 record overall when allowing fewer than 78.4 points." Pete Fiutak writes: "This won’t be the sharpest game out of the box, but eventually these two will settle in and it’ll become a back-and-forth fight with plenty of momentum swings. Kansas has a 10-9 record against the spread and an 18-2 record overall when scoring more than 71.3 points. It writes: "North Carolina C Armando Bacot tweaked his ankle late in Saturday’s game and is expected to play in this game. First one to 80 wins, and we think it will be the Jayhawks." The Jayhawks won't get rattled and will pull away late to end the Tar Heels' underdog push for a title." As talented as North Carolina is, Kansas has more depth and more experience. I think they'll be up for the moment to keep this one relatively close, but it's a tall order to keep it within the 4.5 against this KU team.

Kansas-UNC score? Kansas Jayhawks vs North Carolina Tar Heels NCAA national championship game updates from New Orleans. Hubert Davis vs Bill Self for NCAA ...

The Tar Heels were ranked No. 25 in the March 7 poll after their 94-81 win over Duke to close the regular season. UNC center Armando Bacot finished the first half with 12 points and 10 rebounds, giving him a double-double over the game’s first 20 minutes. Groover saw Kansas and North Carolina three times each. Kansas has three NCAA tournament titles, with its last championship coming in 2008. Anderson officiated two Kansas games and three North Carolina games. Oglesby saw Kansas three times. The Tar Heels face the Jayhawks in the National Championship basketball game in New Orleans. Meanwhile, Kansas hit 9 of 15 shots during the same stretch. But they tallied six while cutting their deficit to a single point. UNC entered the NCAA tournament as a No. 8 seed in the East Region. But the Tar Heels have knocked off three ranked teams -- No. 4 Baylor, No. 11 UCLA and No. 9 Duke -- in their five NCAA tournament wins. With a win Monday night, UNC would be the first unranked team to win the NCAA tournament since Kansas, with Danny Manning, pulled off the trick in 1988. It occurred after a Jayhawks shot when Manek moved into the lane while Kansas center David McCormack was shooting over UNC’s Armando Bacot. McCormack’s left arm caught Manek in the head as he followed through on a shot he made with 16:49 to play in the first half.

Coming off a win against its archrival Duke in the Final Four, the North Carolina Tar Heels are just one game away from the national championship.

9:47 p.m. -- North Carolina answers in a big way with four straight points to tie it up as Armando Bacot goes to the line in an 18-18 game. 10:43 p.m. -- Kansas opens the half with a 6-0 run to cut the lead to nine. North Carolina is up 38-23 with under a minute in the half. 10:45 p.m. -- Kansas continues to get destroyed on the boards, but they're at least scoring on the offensive end. 10:50 p.m. -- Kansas is streaking coming out of the half, as Ochai Agbaji gets fouled on a three-point attempt. 10:08 p.m. -- The small-ball lineup simply isn't working for Kansas right now. 11:27 p.m. -- North Carolina ties the game on a pair of Brady Manek free throws. North Carolina needs to slow itself down and figure out the Kansas press. Kansas went into the half down 40-25 and then stormed back to outscore North Carolina by 18 points in the second half. Bacot further injured his ankle down the stretch on a drive and was pulled after limping back down the floor. Officials take a timeout with 38 seconds left when Bacot gets back down the floor. Christian Braun was a driving force in the comeback as well.

UNC vs. Kansas: Tar Heels confident they won't be drained for ... (CBSSports.com)

North Carolina celebrated like it had won a championship after beating rival Duke, but will play for a real title vs. Kansas on Monday.

Kansas -- and a shot at the college hoops crown -- awaits here in the Big Easy. "There's a number of things that I'm looking forward to processing," Davis said. But the quick turnaround after that type of win Saturday – with coaches high-fiving on the court, fist-pumping to no one in particular, players reacting as if they'd just won one of the biggest games in the history of the sport – is a special test. How well Carolina can separate itself from one of the biggest wins in program history may well determine how well it plays Monday and whether it can finish its historic run as a champion. And it doesn't guarantee wins, but it does put yourself in a position to maybe do something special. Categorizing the joy of the win and preparing for Kansas is quite the challenge, though.
