The Vegas-themed performance is fitting for the two artists who kicked off their An Evening with Silk Sonic residency in Vegas earlier this year. Together they performed a rousing, extended version of the song dedicated to Lady Luck and rollicking good times, Vegas-style. They also tipped to SoHo’s “Hot Music.” The Grammys are in Las Vegas this year — and Silk Sonic is paying homage to Sin City with their opening performance.

Eillish would have won for the third year in a row, making her the first person to ever achieve that milestone — and the first artist to win the award three times unaccompanied. Daniel Cesar and Giveon's "Peaches"; Brandi Carlile's "Right on Time"; Doja Cat ft. But in the industry we call that a clean sweep," .Paak said at the mic, referencing their three other wins — for Best R&B Song, Best R&B Performance, and Song of the Year. Bruno Mars' behavior at the Grammys has Twitter in a tizzy (The List)

Bruno Mars attended the Grammy Awards as part of Silk Sonic, but it was his individual behavior at the end of the night that has fans confused.

Twitter users even joked that things could have gone south, like a certain slap-tastic event at 2022's Oscars ceremony. In fact, in an unusual turn of events, it wasn't what he said on stage that left a bad impression, but rather something he did. Another highlight of the duo's Grammy night was host Trevor Noah poking fun by asking .Paak a string of questions while ignoring Mars. The comedian then quipped, "We don't talk about Bruno!" referencing the hit song from Disney's "Encanto." Mars had a solid acting moment as he played upset, but he quickly broke a smile once the bit was over.

Bruno Mars ties Paul Simon's Grammys record for most Record of ... (Goldderby)

He's prevailed for "Uptown Funk" (2016), "24K Magic" (2018) and "Leave the Door Open" (2022).

Record of the Year was a tight race this year with “Drivers License” by Olivia Rodrigo and “Happier Than Ever” by Billie Eilish also in contention. And he could continue that winning streak in 2023 when the rest of Silk Sonic’s album, “An Evening with Silk Sonic,” is eligible for recognition. But voters have a soft spot for Mars. He swept his nominations this year, and he swept all six of his nominations the last time he was up for Grammys in 2018. Neither Mars nor Simon is the all-time biggest individual winner for Record of the Year, though. Simon won two Record of the Year titles as one half of a music duo, just as Mars did on April 3. The Grammys adore Bruno Mars. After the 2022 Grammys aired on Sunday night, April 3, his total awards haul over the course of his career rose to 15.

At the moment he had sold over 130 million albums worldwide and this made him among the best-selling artists of all time. He became popular worldwide when he released the song Just the Way You Are which is the lead single in his debut studio album called Doo-Wops & Hooligans. His album debuted at top 3 on the Billboard 200 and even sold about 15.5 million copies worldwide. However the said deal did not give him the career as a solo artist and he continued writing songs with Lawrence. His career is taking off steadily and soon he started releasing hit songs one after the other. Lindsey believes in the potential of Mars’ talent and musical ability so he showed him the ins and outs of writing songs. At an early age of four years old, he has started performing five times a week with his family’s band called The Love Notes. He became popular among the Hawaiian residents as the young Elvis Presley impersonator. At this time, Philip Lawrence came into the picture and asked Mars to meet with him and soon they began collaborating and writing songs together. American record producer Lindsey mentored Mars on writing pop music and mentored him throughout his journey. As young as five years old, Bruno Mars has been called as Little Elvis and even performed at the halftime show of the Aloha Bowl in 1990. The hit Bruno Mars song co-written by Elvis Presley's songwriter (Far Out Magazine)

Mac Davis wrote songs for Elvis Presley, Weezer, Avicii and Keith Urban during his career. He also co-wrote the chorus to one of Bruno Mars' hits.

“Well, that was my contribution to the record, and so I ended up with part of the songwriting credit.” “And so I went over there, and I got introduced to everybody,” he said. While it’s impossible to confirm exactly how much of a hand Presley had in writing his hits, it’s understood that he was always paired with accomplished songwriters to help him create his material. In 1958, Presley was drafted into the US Army, cutting his career off temporarily. Presley worked his way through a host of esteemed songwriters throughout his career, giving his work a healthy eclecticism. Elvis Presley died in 1977 and left behind him a legacy that wasn’t and never will be parallelled.

Silk Sonic, Tony Bennett & More 2022 Grammy Record-Setters (Billboard)

Silk Sonic, Tony Bennett, Kanye West and Chick Corea rewrote the Grammy record book at the 64th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday (April 3).

It’s the first album from a musical based on a TV show to win in that category. Carlos Rafael Rivera’s soundtrack from the Netflix miniseries The Queen’s Gambit became just the third soundtrack to a TV show to win best score soundtrack for visual media. He won in the same category as a producer of a deluxe edition of Band on the Run. The first was They Might Be Giants’ “Boss of Me” from Malcolm in the Middle, which won 20 years ago. She is just one award shy of moving into a four-way tie as the producer with the most wins in the category. Stapleton also became the first three-time winner for best country solo performance (for “You Should Probably Leave”). He had been in a tie with two-time category champ Carrie Underwood. Fiona Apple won last year for Fetch the Bolt Cutters. This is the first time in Grammy history that female solo artists have won back-to-back in this historically male-dominated category. D’Mile became the first songwriter in Grammy history to win song of the year two years running. Bruno Mars, one half of Silk Sonic, is just the second artist in Grammy history to win record of the year three times. The record is held by blues legend Pinetop Perkins, who was 97 years and 221 days old when he won the 2010 award for best traditional blues album for Joined at the Hip, a collab with Willie “Big Eyes” Smith. It’s Bennett’s 14th win in the category. The first two were Alicia Keys’ “Fallin’” and Mars’ “That’s What I Like.”
