Getting George back provides a “huge” emotional boost for a team whose short-handed roster is beginning to wear down, Lue said. After resting for two weeks in December, he attempted a return, only to be held out of the lineup in what has become a 43-game absence. “We’re not going to ride him too hard,” Lue said.

“We turned the ball over eight times I think in the fourth quarter. Mitchell tried to call a timeout on an inbounds pass along the baseline with 10 seconds left, but the Jazz had none left. It was their first single-digit deficit since the opening quarter, when they were held to 14 points. From there, the Clippers outscored Utah 34-12 to end the game. The game completely changes when we give ourselves a chance.” Utah led by 25 points early in the third on a basket by Rudy Gobert. George scored 20 points in the period, including 10 of their final 12 points to cut the deficit to 94-82 heading into the fourth. “Our intensity has to be there. 2014 — Shabazz Napier scores 17 of his 25 points in the second half, and UConn beats Michigan State 60-54 to return to the Final Four a year after the Huskies were barred from the NCAA tournament. The 94 combined points was also a record low for a regional final. The Golden Eagles’ 39 points are a record low for a team in an NCAA tournament regional final since the shot clock was introduced in 1986. Gervin wins the scoring title with a 33.1 points per game and becomes the fifth player to win at least three consecutive scoring titles, joining George Mikan, Neil Johnston, Wilt Chamberlain and Bob McAdoo. Parish scores 30 points and grabs 32 rebounds in a 114-98 win over the New York Knicks. The coach made it clear right away that he intended to “hold us accountable to a higher standard.” First, there was Neil Callaway, who was fired in the middle of the 2018 season, when Vorhees was a sophomore. And I think a lot of the credit goes to him and our pitching guys. And his fifth, Vorhees said, had left “a sour taste in my mouth.” So by the time Lincoln Riley arrived as head coach, Vorhees was leaning toward leaving. The Luka Doncic pick-and-roll is as tough to prepare for, is as tough of an action to slow down, as any in the league. The loss also knocked the Lakers out of 10th place in the West, the last spot to make the postseason play-in tournament with seven games remaining. “And we executed very poorly to start the game and really that whole first half, with what our game plan was.
When Paul George first became sidelined with his UCL elbow tear, he had a very big choice to make. One option was to get surgery, and the other was to wait ...
However, when doctors presented the option of not getting surgery at all, George went with that option. "Yeah, it was," George said. "I couldn't do the stuff I needed to.
The Los Angeles Clippers have been playing with an incomplete roster all season. Kawhi Leonard hasn't taken the floor at all while recovering from a torn ...
If George is able to return, the Clippers would be a threat to anyone they face in the playoffs. Remember, the Clippers pushed the eventual Western Conference champion Suns to the brink without Leonard in the 2021 postseason. The Clippers have cultivated a remarkably deep roster with an excellent coaching staff, and even if they have been held out of the championship race, just staying in the top eight considering the injuries they've dealt with is a remarkable achievement. That means that the Clippers will have two chances to reach the playoffs: a road game against whoever finishes No. 7, and should they lose that contest, a home matchup with whoever wins the No. 9 vs. The Clippers are currently seeded eighth in the Western Conference and are all but assured to remain there as they lead No. 9 New Orleans by four games and trail the No. 7 spot by 6.5 games. A torn UCL in his right elbow has kept him out ever since, and given the nature of the injury and the surgery that followed, there appeared to be a chance George would miss the remainder of the season.

Nets guard Kyrie Irving added 24 in his second home game of the season. James Harden led Philadelphia with 32 points and nine assists, while Embiid added 29 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists. Clippers holding out hope for Kawhi's return and a playoff run.
Guys who know how hard it is to win a title don’t take any playoffs for granted. I thought Kevin Durant would punt on the playoffs last season with the Nets injuries, but he made the Bucks kill him. That’s a great quote, but we’ve seen what he’s like when he’s hurt, and it doesn’t always look like that. This also wasn’t James Harden beating up on Orlando. It was two playoff teams on a national broadcast, and Utah was up by 20 late in the third quarter. George hit that mark Tuesday, and looked like the PG we’re accustomed to seeing when he’s healthy. The Clippers appear to be operating like a team that’s extremely aware of its mortality.
George accumulated 34 points (10-20 FG, 6-9 3Pt, 8-11 FT), two rebounds, six assists, one block and four steals across 31 minutes during Tuesday's 121-115 ...
The Utah Jazz lost their fifth consecutive game to the Los Angeles Clippers by a final score of 121-115 last night. Is this team serious?
In fact, the Jazz shot 55.1% from the field and a respectable 38.7% from three-point range. His main job is to score as much as he can as efficiently as he can, and he filled that role last night. It was the freethrow line that spelled disaster in this game, as the team shot 58.6% on freebies. It is worth noting that Bojan Bogdanovic and Danuel House Jr. both remained absent in this contest. In George’s first game in three months, he powered his Clippers to a 121-115 win over the Jazz. It was an impressive performance from a player who has become quite comfortable with overcoming adversity.
LA Clippers star Paul George cited Lakers legend Kobe Bryant as his inspiration for returning from injury.
Should they do so, and should Paul George maintain this level of play, there isn't a team atop the Western Conference that would be pleased to draw them as a first-round opponent. Between Kobe's inspiration and a desire to return for his teammates, there was never a doubt in Paul George's mind that he would be back on the court this year. Paul George and Kobe Bryant had a close personal relationship, as the two worked out together during PG's rise to stardom.
