Denis Shapovalov was defeated by Lloyd Harris in the second round of the Miami Open, his third loss in a row to the South African.

He was immediately broken back and then again as he served to stay alive at 3-5. He managed to escape the first game, but sent a backhand long in the second to surrender an early break. Despite managing to break back and level the set at 3-all, Shapovalov continued to struggle to protect his serve, trailing in every single game of the set.
