Lynx Air Expands From Toronto Region (Routesonline)

Canadian startup Lynx Air is expanding out of the Toronto region, adding four new destinations and five new routes to its network.

From Toronto Pearson, the ULCC plans to offer a 3X-weekly route to Halifax ( YHZ) starting on June 30. The Halifax service will also be 2X-weekly. The plans will see Lynx launch three new routes from Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and two from John C. Munro Hamilton International (YHM). Frequencies between Toronto Pearson and Calgary ( YYC) will increase from seven flights per week to 12X-weekly from June 28.

Lynx Air is adding new flights connecting the Toronto region to two Atlantic Canadian capital cities beginning in June. In a March 17 news release, the new airline, which markets itself as "ultra-affordable," said it will add three flights per week ...

"We are excited to be announcing this major expansion of our network, providing Toronto residents with more choice and competition as they seek to reconnect with loved ones and to rediscover this beautiful country," Merren McArthur, CEO of Lynx, said in the release. The airline said the new routes are part of its expansion outside the Toronto area, with flights also connecting to Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. In a news release, the new airline, which markets itself as "ultra-affordable," said it will add three flights per week between Toronto Pearson Airport and Halifax Stanfield International Airport on June 30, with plans to increase to five weekly flights between the two cities on July 30.

A spokesperson for St. John’s International Airport calls the announcement “welcome news”, adding that the key route fits well with the Come Home Year Program, as well as the airport’s ongoing Air Service Development work. As part of the program, the flights will also be offered out of Hamilton Airport. Lynx Air, formerly Enerjet, will be offering non-stop flights from St. John’s to Toronto-Pearson International Airport, as part of what it calls a major expansion from the Toronto region.

Ultra low-cost air carrier Lynx will make Hamilton's international airport a stop for a couple of weekly flights to Calgary and Halifax.

Lynx also announced flights between Toronto Pearson and Calgary will move from seven per week to 12 on June 28. The flights will happen twice a week to and from John C. Munro starting on June 29 with the Calgary service expanding to four flights a week a month later. Ultra low-cost air carrier Lynx will make Hamilton’s international airport a stop for a couple of weekly flights to Calgary and Halifax.

Pearson Airport Is Getting Some Cheap Flights Across Canada ... (Narcity)

Another super affordable airline is hitting the tarmac at Toronto Pearson Airport soon, and just in time for the summer.

Lynx will be offering two flights each week to Calgary from Hamilton starting June 29. Starting June 28, Lynx Air will also be flying to St. John's two times a week, increasing the number of flights to seven per week a month later in July. One-way tickets from Pearson to St. John's International Airport currently cost $99 to $129. Plus, you could hop on board for as little as $69 from Toronto, though prices appear to fluctuate depending on when your flight takes off.
