As Nick Paul pulled on his No. 21 jersey Monday night at the Canadian Tire Centre, he likely looked down at the Ottawa Senators' crest on his jersey and…

You’ve got to look at the positives. He has 18 goals and 42 points in 56 games with the Flyers this season and is being eyed by several contenders that want to make a deal. Fleury is an unrestricted free agent in the summer and if he’s going to move his family then he’d probably like to know where he’s going to be next season. The Washington Capitals and Minnesota Wild are also possible destinations. Article content At some point this week, Dorion and Capizzano have to determine whether Paul has future with the Senators or if he’ll be dealt. Paul, 26, has 11 goals and 18 points in 57 games this season while playing several roles under coach D.J. Smith. Schmaltz nets winner, Crouse scores hat trick as Coyotes defeat ... (CBC.ca)

Nick Schmaltz scored the game-winner to extend his point streak Monday, and the Arizona Coyotes beat the Ottawa Senators 5-3.

And to get my first hat trick tonight in front of some friends and family, it's a really good feeling. To cap it off with a win makes it that much more special." But you can look at it as well saying, even though it was not as good as we wanted, we found a way to stay with it. Barrett Hayton had an empty-net goal to round out the Coyotes scoring.

Schmaltz shines again as Coyotes steal victory from Senators (Ottawa Sun)

The Nick Schmaltz nightmare continued for the Ottawa Senators Monday as the Arizona Coyotes staged a robbery at Canadian Tire Centre.

“It’s a tough one to swallow,” he said. Norris got the scoring started early, picking up the loose change after Tkachuk drove hard to the net. “We want to be competitive,” he said before the game. Since then, though, they’ve steadily improved, going 19-26-3. At times, they buzzed around the Coyotes zone at will, stymied by Wedgewood and missed opportunities. Crouse shook off a Norris check to beat Gustavsson shorthanded, adding to the even strength and power play goals he scored in the first period. Down a goal headed into the third period, the Senators kept pushing. Smith, however, wasn’t pinning the blame on his goaltender. Gustavsson, who is expected to see his share of action while backing up Anton Forsberg, has now lost his past seven decisions and hasn’t tasted an NHL victory since Nov. 13. Barrett Hayton iced the contest by scoring into an empty net with 47 seconds remaining. Article content Article content

The first was a great shot high glove side and the second was on the power play as he tipped a Shayne Gostisbehere point shot. The momentum was on our side and that completely deflates the group so as a line we have to buckle up in those situations and have to learn from that. "In that kind of a game, you can look at it two ways," said Arizona coach Andre Tourigny. "You can look at our performance, and really, it was not very good. But you can look at it as well saying, even though it was not as good as we wanted, we found a way to stay with it. Lawson Crouse scored three goals, one at even strength, one on the power play and shorthanded. "Yeah it's on the guys on the ice," said Tkachuk. "It's happening to our line in back-to-back games so we've got to learn from those and not let it happen again.
